so he is in Hawaii now? Can't he call the base and see if anyone lives near by. Is their any public transportation? Or rent a car, how old is he? If he was just transferred wouldn't he be stationed on the base?

Did he have a sponser when he first arrived there?? If so have him contact that sponser and they should be able to help him out...

Have him call his chaplain on base for suggestions on transportation. Just a thought.

My Husband (medical retired Navy SWCC) Called his command and told the PO that he needed a ride until he gets his car - That seems to have done the trick ~ His barricks are so far out that there isn't public transportation- I am suprised how far he is from his actual command-- Thank you every one for your replies.. I was very concerned about him yesterday- he sounded so stressed on the phone. I did speak to Blake tonight and he sounds so much better!! Prayers to you and yours and Be Blessed!!

There are shuttles from some of the barracks to Kunia. The Navy Exchange also has shuttles from some of the barracks to the Exchange/Commissary in Pearl Harbor. If he has a sponsor they should help him find the best way to work it out. If not he should ask his Leading Petty Officer or Chief.

Carolyn, I am so glad that they are going to help him out. I felt so bad for him. They should have transportation for all of them set up. A lot of the kids will not be able to buy cars right away.

Ive just moved to Texas from Hawaii..."The Bus" runs 24hrs a day and if I believe right, they give Military discounts, in fact I belive they ride free with their Military Badges. There isnt a place on the Island The Bus doesnt go...and theres one every 5 minutes so its virtually impossible for him to miss one or be late...

HI Carolyn, my daughter, Ashley, is also stationed there & lives on the same base. Depending on what shift Blake works, Ash may be able to help him out as she does have a car. Having a car there is a must as there really is no way else to get around. I can pm you my # & maybe we can work this out. TI'm assuming Blake lives at the base in Wahiawa & works at NIOC in Kunia.
