Does anyone know why some recruits PIR in black and some in white?

I was just wondering (my family is very new to this) does anyone know why some recruits graduate in Black Uniforms and some in White. Does that mean something?

Hi Pirella, the color of the uniform worn at PIR is dependent on what season it is. White is worn from April/May and Black sometime in October.

Thanks for your quick response. My brother graduates on the 26th of September and I am just wondering what color he'll be wearing... so it will probably be black right?

I would think so, what division is your brother in?

He is in Div 362, ship 10

They will be in white. I believe Chicago switches to Dress Blues (black) in October. My daughter graduates that same day.

Thanks Dawn, I guess white it is for my brother. I'm very exited and can't wait to see him at PIR.

My daughter graduated last Sept 21 & wore white so I believe your brother will be wearing white also.

I think they switch over in October Mirella so they might be still in white :)
