It's time!

Yep. A debate between United States vice presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sarah Palin is scheduled to take place on October 2, 2008, at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

That being said... please keep it civil. please source your facts. please don't use cheap shots on other members in your post (no matter how much you might want to). Focus on the issues at hand... yada, yada, yada... Ladies, Gents- we have been through this countless times before. With less than 6 weeks to go... let's note that most of us have already made up our mind.

Palin: Hey, can we talk about Afghanistan? It's on my notecards! I haven't checked it off yet!

and that wrinkley nose cute talk...the media was worried about BIDEN being condesending?? geez...wonder if she'll wiggle her butt when she walks off the stage?

It was great how Joe didn't use any notes!

I like that Biden is the only non millionaire in the ticket! Just checked that out.I liked that he showed emotion, talking about being a single father after his wife died. I didn't see any emotion in Sara, and kept thinking about all she learned in her beauty contest days. Sara was better informed than I expected, but I did not like that she refused to talk about certain issues, and redirected the moderator! Doesn't speak to the spirit of cooperation she claims to have.

You all cannot just admit that she did good. After the 1st Presidential Debates I admitted that Obama did better than I thought he would. But you all will bite your tougues off rather than to give Palin any credit at all. Karen, you are really being discriminatory against women by your comments about her looks and wiggling her behind. With women out there being so condesending towards other women there is no need for male chauvanists, you are their spokesperson.

She was able to read her cue cards very well and she did the down home "hockey mom" thing that would work well for campaigning for a small town mayor or a state where the population is smaller than most large ciities.

I think she did better than I thought. Now that she is so prepared and doing so well, I do expect to see her on Meet the Press or Face the Nation this weekend. Going on these shows would definitely raise my opinion of her. Let's not hold our breaths though. After this debate, she's going to hidden away in a hole and all we'll see is the usual rhetorical stump speeches.

I will give her an A for public speaking, but a D for originality and using her own words. I was impressed that she could piece together coherent senstences. She dodged most questions and just came out with party line talking point. Joe Biden answered all questions with detail and flair, while Sarah kept steering into areas that weren't even being covered. I found myself at times wondering where she was going with her responses. She was obviously coached to a point where she was just an extension of whoever was coaching her.

As bad as George Bush was as president, Sarah Palin would be ten times worse. Even George Bush has more smarts than Sarah Palin and that is setting the bar very low.

I thought the nose wrinkling and the winking was a little coquettish.

I don't want a hockey mom for VP or God forbid for president. I think Biden was very polite to her, even when she had that nasty smile on her face every time she tried to give him a "gotcha" moment.

Nasty smile - oxymoron

hehehehehe

I think most of us feel that women who act cute or use body image/language to get ahead in the world are the ones hurting women. If less women acted that way when trying to rise up in the world then maybe there would be less male chauvanists. I could never respect a woman that acts that way.

I have no problem with a woman being nice and cute. I'm much more bothered by women who act like men. To think that in order to gain in the ranks you have to pretend to be someone your not is deceitful. For a woman to be smart, articulate and a real woman is much more appealing to me. If she wore no make-up, cut her hair short and tried to act like a man….would that be real? She’s strong and feminine. She doesn’t fit the feminist view of a powerful woman so she’s criticized.
