Navy For Moms

My daughter, Jessica is in DIV 949 with PIR on 10/24. I spoke with her on the phone today and she indicated that she will play a flute solo for the 10/10 and 10/17 graduations. I am wondering if anyone would be able to take photos and or videos of the band for me. She is the only flute player, so she shouldn't be hard to spot.

I know all of your sons/daughters are your top priorities, as they should be. I just thought I would toss this out there.

Thank you so much Diane. I do know that she will play at her own PIR, I just am so desperate to see her that I thought I would ask other moms. I really appreciate you passing this along!!

Hi Teresa! My son is Div 948 and is playing quads for 10/10 and 10/17!! You bet I will video!! I comb the video spot here and you tube every day for additions from 10/3 PIR looking for my SR! I will try to add video on Monday 10/20 when we get back home. Did Jessica march in high school band? I am jonesin' for some bad concession stand nachos! Congratulations on your Sailor!

Thank you soooo much DeLane. Yes, Jessica was in the marching band. She started in 6th grade and continued until she graduated. When she told me she had a solo, I assumed it was on the flute. Her letter on Wednesday said it was with the picalo (sp?). I am so proud of her! Congratulations to your Sailor!!! What does your son look like so I can look for video of him?

He is 6'2" light brown hair and brown eyes.....sounds like about 1000 other recruits @ GL!! Well, he will be playing tenors on the video. You will probably hear me boo-hooing over the drum playing in the video. If I can figure out how, I will post the video on You Tube and on my page here as well :). I will make sure to zoom in on the sweet picilo player!

I think it would be great if anyone that goes to PIR take all the pictures, videos they can because even with their children there is a chance someone else will be in the pictures. There is a couple posted on YouTube but nothing really recent that I located. When my oldest son was in Marine boot that is how I got pictures of him and it really helped me to see him then I knew he was ok. He was doing road guard. I also took pictures at his graduation and posted and many partents found their children. Good feeling to see them. Good Luck to all of you and your soon to be sailors. God Bless all.
