I just think you all need to know that we have angels amoung us.. This woman I met here on this site..whos own son hasnt even left for BC yet... who lives over 3000 miles away from me and doesnt know me or my son from adam.. took a mom's stressed heart.. and put it back together... Meet Ms. Theresa... http://www.navyformoms.com/profile/TheresaSmith
She came to my resucue.. pick up my son from the shipyard tonight.. Made sure he got the Cell phone charger he needed, a warm hoodie/coat, and a Wendys burger in his tummy since he had hardly seen the outside world in a long time. She even invited him in with her family for Thanksgiving!! Our site here ...and I have been here since close to the beginining ..is a wonderful WONDERFUL thing. This is one mom who will sleep a small bit better tonight knowing there are AMAZING human beings out there...
Please go to her page.. tell her she ROCKS!!... We all have each others back!! And I for one believe in angels a little bit more tonight...
Thanks to all of you for all the encouraging words. But you know, I really did not do anything special. You all know that everyone of you would have done the same thing for my son or any of our children if we could. My son leaves in less than three weeks and I really don't know how you all got through this. It really is the hardest thing I think I've ever tried to prepare myself for. Again, thank you all so much for your kind words. They could not have come at a better time. YOU GUYS ARE THE ONES THAT ROCK!!!
You know you are right but it was still one of the kindest things Ive heard in awhile. You will be fine its hard when they first leave but you get buy. I was so thankful for this sight. please stay in touch we are all here for each other
Theresa:
Please know you now have a support system of over 5000 strong. We are here for you when you need us. My son just left for his first deployment and is in Norfolk waiting to be flown out to meet his ship. From boot camp to "A" school to the fleet, each move means we as Moms have a new set of worries and questions.
I won't tell you it's easy when they leave for boot camp, it's one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. But we get through it with the help of everyone on this site.
Keep in touch!
Hi Theresa! I just read on Stephanie's discussion what an amazing and selfless thing you did for her son,,If there's one thing we know, it's how other N4M's feel when their sailor is so far away and needs assistance, My angel came in the form of my future daughter-in-law when my son needed to be picked up from the airport coming home for his liberty (she did that more than once),,You truly are a generous and giving person,,that's just another jewel in your crown, Blessings to you and your family,,Always, Erelene
