My son is in BC and graduation is set for this Friday. A week ago he became ill and now has to transfer to another division. He's devastated!! I'm just happy to know he's making a full recovery. But now I don't know what to expect at this point. If there is anyone out there that has had this experience or know someone who has, please help! He's worried about being kicked out.

It's no big deal. He still graduates. It just kind of stinks it can't be with his division. They might have to send him to THU now that he missed his normal date, which means he might be stuck at Great Lakes a tad bit longer but it is no big deal and you won't know until he gets his orders
No worries honey... as long as its nothing serious he has nothing to be worried about. My son twisted his ankle in BC and still graduated with his class..and I also have seen kids go through some MAJOR issues and just get put back a few weeks.. so tell him breathe though it.. it may not be with the same guys which I know is hard but he will be JUST FINE!!
My Daughter got very sick just before battlestations, she went ahead and did battlestations anyway and didnt tell any one she was sick because she would have been held back, she passed battlestations and graduated on time, but it was real hard on her, she's doing better now and is on her way to "A" school.
Tell him not to worry, like they said just held back a week or two, he will be just fine. they have so much pressure on them and want to get done with BC I know he disappointed. but he will make it. tell him to keep is chin up. and he will done in no time. Tamie
Hi;
I am super sorry to hear about your son. The same thing happened to mine, only he fractured his leg. What ever division they put him in is who he will graduate with. So, if they where one week, or two behind him it wont be too bad. Hang in there, when you see him it will be the best time of your life! Hope this helps. Much Love, Sherry, David's mom
Thanks ladies! I am so happy I found this site! This site has already become a blessing for me. I look forward to taking this journey with you all! Much love...Mom Laws
Sharon, I have been in your shoes. My son was hospitalized for three days and then put on light duty for several more days. He had a severe respiratory infection. He was set back one week and is now much healthier and looking forward to graduation. We kept telling him that the most important thing was for him to get well. The hardest thing for him was changing divisions because he was getting along with the guys in his original division and they worked well as a team. The Navy does everything it can to keep the recruits from having to leave. We had everyone, and I do mean everyone, praying for his recovery. He told me even the recruits in his division were praying for him. Hang in there mom!
Thanks Joanna! I heard from Dan and he said he feels much better. He passed everything and now he's in a "holding" area awaiting orders. He's so excited about being able to watch a little television and make phone calls! But he doesn't think he's going to actually be a part of a graduation ceremony. Did your son participate in graduation? He also says I can visit him now!! Great Lakes here I come!!!
