Navy For Moms

Does anyone know the REAL rules for hair length for women? My daughter is freaking out that she will have to cut her hair to the point where she can't pull it back and put it into a bun. My other daughter is in the Army and she is allowed her long hair as long as it is is a tight bun and is not below her collar. Anyone have the answer??

My daughter had to cut her hair when she was in bootcamp this year.. infact all the girls had the same hair cut. and since my daughter was there, while it was still cold and they all had their heavy raincoat with the white scarf covering their faces and having their hats on while outside it was hard to find her.
everyone looked the same.
but once your out of bootcamp you can grow your hair and put it in a tight bun.
My daughter just told me, she heard they didn't have to cut it anymore .. but then again we are talking about the Navy so... who know's. I guess she will find out when she gets to bootcamp.

that runor about not cutting the hair was also mentioned some time last year when my daughter finished boot camp. But it looks like they are still requiring them to cut their hair.

Thanks for the info...looks like she will be cutting her hair...she'll probably get it done before she goes and donate it to Locks For Love (her hair is halfway down her back)

Female recruits are required to keep there hair short while in boot camp. She will have to have it above her collar, if anytime during bootcamp her hair falls below that she will be taken to get a hair cut. After bootcamp she can grow her hair out.

This is a fact, I just texted a friend of mine who is an RDC at RTC to get the answer.

There is always the rumor about females being allowed to have long hair while in bootcamp, that is all they are is rumors.

Thanks...I'll get the nerve up to tell Emily...she will not be happy, but it's only hair and she can grow it back.

My daughter just completed boot camp in Sept. She cut her hair the day before she left however I guess it grew some they did cut it again about wee four. She was so upset she said it was really really short. (her words) If you take your daughter in to have her hair cut I would take it an inch or so shorter than you planed.
