Ship 05/Div 191-First letter and phone call within 24 hours of each other!

Well how excited am I? I received Tony's first letter and his form letter yesterday. This morning I was sitting at my desk and received a phone call on my cell! How shocked was I? Sorta typical "day in the life of Tony pre-Navy" phone call but none the less I am thrilled. He was able to call because he thought he shipped his check book back in the"box", he did not so this means his check book is somewhere between NJ and GL.....he needed his direct deposit set up so told him to go ahead with Navy Federal....(knowing this current checking account now needs to be closed by me! He did get a couple of minutes to talk. Has a cough, asked about his car and girlfriend and laughed because I knew what the "ricky crud" is. Asked me if I had been on this site. He sounds really great and what a sigh of relief I am breathing! Hope everyone is getting as lucky as I have been!

Hi Betsy,
Corey will be heading to San Antonio for A school, but in his letter he said it might change and he might be going to Washington D.C. I don't know why. All he said is that he would have to wait a few weeks inbetween graduation and heading out to A school if he goes to San Antonio. That sounded great to me if it means he would get to come home for those weeks. But on the other hand, it would be nice to have him on the east coast. We are originally from Virginia and have most of our family there. So, what's grab n go? I am so new to all this. And PE? I'm sure I will catch on soon enough. Thanks so much for responding!!
Have a good night,
Kim

Hi Kim,
Would Corey really be able to come home for those weeks? Have not heard of that yet. PE is the physical part and grab n go is when after graduation they basicaly have to head to the airport for their flight to A school. I am new to this to but Tony was delayed entry for almost a year so have learned a couple of things but have learned alot on here. What part of Virginia? I once lived in Chesepeake. Will you be going to graduation?

HI Betsy,
I can't believe you lived in Chesapeake. I grew up there, and I am actually heading down there on April 18th to visit my mom and the rest of my family. I grew up in the Deep Creek area and went to Deep Creek High School. Corey started school down there, but we moved to Maine when he was 6. He has always said he wanted to move back, and hopes he gets stationed there at some point in his Navy career. About graduation, we will be attending. We are hoping for some good deals so all of us can go. And now it totally makes sense, grad n go. They did tell us that he would be going straight to A school from boot camp. It seems like I learn more on this website than I have from anyone else. I just wish I knew Corey was getting our letters. I don't want him thinking that we are just not writing. Thank you so much for all your help. I really appreciate it. How about you, will you be going to graduation? Well, I'm going to go write another letter. I'll talk to you soon.
Have a great weekend!
