Navy For Moms

Should we plan a "get together" for families of those in division 313/ship 14?

From what I heard, the guys in 313 are a tight group that stick together. Let's brainstorm about what, when and where because we all know why.

Oops, how could I forget to comment on the CHICK MAGNET. That does not surprise me one bit. Eric has the sweetest personality, beautiful smile, great sense of humor so throw all of that together with being a very handsome man in a uniform..........wow.........of course the girls are going to go crazy for him. Way to go Eric!

Here is the deal ladies...............Kenny will be leaving Lackland AFB at 10am tomorrow morning. He has a 2pm flight to O'Hare that arrives about 5:00pm so by 8:00pm or so, if schedules permits Kenny will make contact with his former shipmates, I think that is what they all call each other.

Good Night to all.

Thats great that he finally made it back and just in time for the weekend. Do you know what building he is in?

Reply to This

I am not sure he knows what building he is in.......he has not thawed out yet. You know he is a Northern Cali Native and we dont do 30 degrees in October :-0

I am pulling out all of my boots, fuss and spears..............oops, I am not taking the spears but something to keep me warm since my husband doesnt make the business trips with me, I have no one to keep me warm in the 19 degree weather and Im sure its windy. So tell me ladies, how does one dress for that, walk two to three blocks (too close to drive of course) then arrive at a meeting looking good - probably not going to happen in my case. LOL. I will take pics for you.

LOL Monica you crack me up! Its pretty cool here in MO already but we havent gotten below 40 at night. I HATE cold weather. I tend to hibernate in the Winter, unless we can get a job somewhere SOUTH!
James is doing GREAT, ranked #2 in his class with only 1 test left to go and he knows he has to beat the top guy by 4 points to be #1. He is really motivated.
With my prodding, he decided to stay in Pensacola this weekend and spend the time with his buddies. His friend from home who flew down, they have a home in Foley AL so they are going to hang out there for the weekend. The hose is off the beaten track and quite rural, so they will be able to ride 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. Plus they are only a 5 mile drive to the beach.Since he is Phase 3 he will get to leave today at Noon and not have to return till Sunday evening. I was really concerned if he came home my feelings would get hurt if I had to share him with all his buddies here. I know I get to see him soon, and I reminded him that his time down there in the nice Florida Gulf Region was ticking away very quickly.
I am so glad kenny made it back to GL safely. Maybe now he can get his classes started and get moving forward. And yeah it SHIPMATES!

Hi ladies. Monica--I spoke with Matt eariler tonight. He said he had
Gerber Baby's number & was going to try & contact him this weekend. .

Matt seems to really be liking A school. Him studying in a Fri. night is really a novel thing.
Everyone seems to be doing well. I've been reading the postings, but haven't had time to respond.
How proud I am of James--2nd in his class!!! Way to go!!!

Monica-- glad you are the one going to Chicago. I don't do cold very well. I'm like Jacqueline--I would like to hibernate until spring.
Matt is staying in GL for Thanksgiving. That is really a bummer. I have never not been with him for a holiday--except for the 4th of July when he was camping with the Boy Scouts. At least our cousins are there, & hopefully he will be able to go there. They have really opened their home up to him, so I feel he will be welcome.

Last night was the first time he admitted to being homesick. I tell you, after watching the DVD of PIR I was really bummed out and in a funk for several days. I miss him popping in & out of the house, bring kids for me to feed, and laundry for me to wash.
But, with 4 dogs, I stay busy. At least they don't bring home friends for dinner.

At long last we got an estimate about our carpet damage/ water extraction, etc...Am now waiting on the insurance adjusters to come. Our living room is still in a mess & we are unable to use it. I am ready for some order in my life.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Nothing planned, & that is good.

Things with the Navy seem to either go real slow or real fast! I spoke with James yesterday and he told me that Wed Oct 29th will be his last day. He will process out on Thurs and then be headed home on either Friday or Monday(evidently they dont leave on weekends) We will know more for sure after he talks to the Chief on Monday who does the re-routing of their airfare!
Holly I sure feel for you, I had to spend just one weekend with roofers and the disorder made me a little nutty! Plus it drove my 2 chihuahuas a little nutty. I have no idea about James and Thanksgiving or Christmas yet. I know he said he has 19 days leave saved up and he will use only 5 while he is home, even though he will be home for 10. The other 5 days will be wrote off by his Recruiter in exchange for him working out of the Office here those days. So he will still have 14 days of leave, but weather he will be allowed to come home, and IF he can afford it is another story.
Monica,
Looks like I will be using my letters you made me real soon! I will be sure to post pics as soon as I can. The Service Flag production is in full swing and now being handled by the Ministrial Alliance here. They are wanting Media coverage so I said "what the heck" as long as I can get free advertising for Navy4Moms. So these Flags will be made by a Group of women covering many denominations. They get together weekly and look for a project to spread their Ministry. Our 1st Meeting is next week!

Shelly, its great hearing from you!

I just got back from Chico seeing our other son, Eddie. I made him a Trick or Treat bag filled with goodies, of course a pumpkin for his dorm and more of those "mom had to give" items . We went to the park, had a picnic and just really enjoyed the visit. I will post the pics to my page.....one pic is of Eddie and I looking at the Navy Kell book. While we were there, Kenny called asking me when I was due to arrive in Chicago tomorrow. He will have liberty this weekend, SWEET! Sad thing is Sun eve is literally the only free time that I'll have so here is hoping he can have dinner with me at Hotel Orrington at Blu (Japenese). I told him if that doesn't work out, I completely understand and not to be bummed about it. I will be going back there Nov 17-19 with a lot less meetings so will have more time to visit.
So ladies, I pulled out the wool coat, gloves, ear muffs (that's right, ear warmers), boots but I am leaving the spears at home as previously mentioned.

I will logged on nightly via my laptop to check in on everyone. I hope the rest of your weekend is great and week to come. I get back into Cali late Wed night. Night Night to all.

Monica, I also hope you packed your thermals.
I spoke with Matt earlier today. He said that the weather was miserable ---the winds here hurricane strength & it was COLD. Said he stayed in most of the day.
I don't envy you or the guys in GL.
Hope you were able to catch up with Kenny. IT would be ashame to be so close & not get to see him..

We had a beautiful day here. I worked outside in the yard for several hours.

Jacqueline--I know you are excited to have James coming home so soon. I am happy for you.

Hope everyone has a great week.
