They will cram everything into that time frame. TJ was placed in one of the 900's as one of the last ones. They fill the divisions to 80 sailors. If you are one of the last ones to come in you cram to "catch up" with the rest. That was my son's description.

He went to GL on March 18. That means P week was over on the 24th. Which means his basic was crammed into 6 1/2 to 7 weeks. His PIR is 5/9! I at first was counting on a 5/16 PiR but it is listed on the website as 5/9. He is division 925. I think they expect more out of the high scorers and musicians. They have grown up more disciplined with what they know how to do and they are sure they can handle it. It makes a mother PROUD!!!

David left on the 24th, spent the night in a hotel near O'Hare....waiting for all the others to fly in...then arrived at RTC on the 25....so it'll definitely be a full 8+ weeks for him. He said the processing was boring and slow too ....we're wondering if he'll have anything to do with the ceremony at PIR...that could be cooll!
Looking forward to meeting you ...if possible.

don't count on him having anything to do with the PIR ceremony --- i know my son worked in the office the whole bootcamp on his free time getting everyones papers ready for graduation --- but graduation day their all the same ---- 801 sailors on his day were graduating --- i think it is rushed but everyone is so overwhelmed in seeing their sons, etc that it seems to drag on --- their names are never announced or anything, bring binoculors definately and you'll see --- you can't wait til end of ceremony and they announce liberty ------ its an awesome feeling running to find your sailor...

hello,
If im not mistaken i think they count to 6 weeks. so they start week 1 on the second week. blaine said he was on week 1 day 2 on april 6th. He said they graduate on there week 6 day 5. I really think it depends on if they had to have any medical or dental issues addressed. Hope this helps kelly

hello, My son left on the 25th and arrived on the 26th of March. The website has the graduation posted as May 23rd (exactly 8 weeks), for division 193. However, his recent letter says May 28th (wednesday). I'm sure he probably heard wrong, looks like the graduations are held on Friday's. Any suggestions on airline, airport or hotels? How about rental cars or taxi's to get around? Any info would help? Thanks.

My son is also graduating on 5/23. He's on ship 07 and div 193. How about you?

I think my son graduates on May 23rd - that's what the website says! He's in DIV 197 SHIP 11. I don't know too much. I'm still waiting on that first phone call. Ellen

Thank you for checking on that - I really appreciate it.
You're right -- we won't even consider a delay. I am praying so often that Jim will not get sick or hurt. I know he's grown, but when I was his age, if I was sick I wanted my mom!
Do you have a son or daughter graduating that day, too?
