About me:
I am 43 and married to the most wonderful man.( who by the way was in the Navy) My son Phillip is 21 and in boot camp in ship 6 div 933. He was in the DEP ( Delayed Entry Program ) from Dec until May 6th when he left for great lakes. I have a step daughter ( Mandy ) and 3 Beautiful grandchildren ( Hunter-4, Natalie-3, and Alisha-5months) . And her Husband ( Mike ) who is in the army ( 2nd enlistment) and stationed at Ft Hood Texas. I have 2 nephews who are my angel's and my sidekick's. My mom who is my best friend.
My child's first name:
Phillip Ship 6 Division 933
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
He joined the Navy. Ever since high school he has been wondering aimlessly about what he was going to do with his life. I am so proud of the fact that my son made a choice and stuck with it.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
To let my son make his own choices in life and to let him learn from his mistakes. And that he was going to be 21 and I had to learn to let go.. He is an adult now.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hey Pam, how's it feel to be the mother of a US NAVY SAILOR, all graduated and on Liberty?!! CONGRATULATIONS to Phillip, now you'll have a boatload of your own photos to share. :D

Glad someone else posted on your page, I was beginning to look like a stalker! Talk to you when you get back.

Hey Pam, tried to log on around 9ish your time, either you had finished webcasting by then or never could. I couldn't find you or make it work at any rate. :( Hope you had a great turnout. Did Kimberly make it o.k.? Take LOTS of pics. It's awful quiet on the site tonight, my 'puter isn't going 'ding" and my e-mail box isn't full of notices. lol

Again, I wish you a wonderful PIR experience. I'm so jealous of your extra day of Liberty this weekend! ;-)

Pam, we set up the pics on a Piccasa Page and sent the link to your home e-mail. Let me know if you have trouble getting to them. There are a few that say (AVI), those are video. I betcha the 933's won Hall of fame; traditionally, those Sailors get to stay out late, usually on Saturday. Everything will be a day earlier than usual for all if you though. Have a great time at the dinner tomorrow night. Give the girls an extra squeeze and a howdy from me too.

Good Grief, I think that is the longest comment I have ever posted!!! Sorry Pam for being a space hog, it'll get buried soon enough. =)

Hey Pammie... I GOT HIM!!! The Ark Flag passed right in front of us and then he stood to our right for a while. Bravo Zulu to Phillip, he did well, very impressive those flags. My camera was having a hard time focusing in that hall, things kept coming out blurry and far away looking. Frustrating! My husbands camera did better. We went to a movie after PIR, then dinner, Mark had to be back by 6:30. We were exhausted, but soooo happy! It was amazing, what an AWESOME experience, what a GREAT DAY!!

I was also frustrated by my technology-again. When we arrived at the Navy Lodge Weds.p.m.-Thurs I had free internet. After Friday's PIR we couldn't connect. My hubby promised to get me on even if he had to pay for it. After the "boys" were dropped off, we went out with the one family whose son failed Battle Stations (yep, he nodded off briefly in the last ten minutes during a video. he was in the front row of his group. We all held our breath and prayed like crazy, he passed right before the ceremony! Too exhausted to march and stand, but he graduated. So we went to celebrate with them, same family we went to the cubs game with on Thurs. But I digress) Got back too late and too emotionally wiped and physically tired to even look at the computer!

Then on Sat., we noticed when we got back in from Chicago (Mark had extra Liberty until 8:30, but it was not from Hall of Fame) that there had been a power surge or outage, probably brief, but the net connections were down. I was DYING to send these photos to you, I got some of the choir (video too) AND the Drummers. Hubby had to set up a password and pay for us to log on. I was given just enough time to check on my page and e-mail a couple people, but not download all our photos. Plus, Mark was running out of time and really wanted to check his accounts and My space page.

Then we took him back and drove all over the countryside looking for a grocery store of any sort, open and anywhere near GL. Hard to find!! We finally found a Walmart Superstore, but didn't get back until after 10:30. My daughter was still fighting the bug she had the prior Sunday and was really dragging. We shut things down and let her get to bed.

Sunday morning there was no time to jump on the net. We got up early and went to Chapel with Mark, then headed straight to brunch with another 933 family, then to Wisconsin to visit my Aunt and Cousin who I hadn't seen in 8 years- my moms only full sister. I'd never even met my Uncle, he's ex-navy and Mark enjoyed talking to him. It was so hard to drop Mark back off for the last time! He turned and waved over his shoulder as we drove by then walked off. I didn't cry then, but I did when the plane lifted off from Midway, as the Chicago skyline started to fade in the distance. it just didn't seem right.

My hubby knows how it takes me longer than I think it's going to to get something done. Plus, how distractable I am when I get on N4M's. He insisted Sun. Nt. that my Daughter and I get all packed up, our stuff ironed and set out for the flight home before we got on the internet. Then he preceeded to completely consume what time we had before lights out to get some financial stuff done and check all his work e-mail and blog/facebook feeds. Could've killed him!

We traveled all day Mon., (plane left at 12;30) 4 hours of flying and 5 hours of driving plus some wasted time before and in between. Got back after 11p.m. last night. Then today he forgot to leave his Camera, the one with the good pics, so I couldn't download before you left! He just got home, so I'll try to still get them to you.

It won't be long before you see Phillip doing his thing live for you, but a sneak peak never hurts. So sorry you didn't get them sooner! :( I could have sent you an e-mail to let you know I had them, but I didn't want to torture you and the girls that way. You are all in for such a treat, many memorable moments and a whirlwind of a wonderful weekend! I think we convinced all our beautiful sunshine to stick around for all of you. Wish I could see the fireworks show and meet all of you crazy chatters, but I wouldn't have waited another week for all the money in the world!! Safe Travels...

Thanks Pam. That was a little confusing to me. Sitting here on pins and needles and can't focus on much of anything else!

Hi Pam:

The pictures that you are talking about are of the 7/3 class or prior graduations?

Pam,
It's around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, I've been up for a good hour and a half and thought I'd say good-bye to you before I left this morning for GL!!!!! I still haven't heard anything from Katie about her run, so I'm taking that as a good thing. Have to think possitive. We'll get into Chicago this afternoon and get our bearings. Tomarrow, I have to go to the outskirts of Milwaukee to see my younger sister that is mentally handicapped ( I am her guardian). I haven't seen her since my Dad died in '94 She sas Rhetts syndrome, has the mentality of a 9 month old baby even though she's 43 years old. It's hard for me to see her. I usually spend my time crying.
Anyway, after that, we'll come back, and meet up with you lovely ladies! I can't wait for that. And NO, I did not study, so I'm out of the running on the game, but it sounds like fun.
Be extra safe on your drive up. There's a lot of crazies out there :)
