Profile Information

About me:
Lieutenant and Naval Aviator flying the E-2C Hawkeye. My little sister is in Div 211, Ship 13.

I am prior enlisted and graduated boot camp in September 1995. I was an aviation electronics technician. My commissioning source was the BOOST program followed by 5 years of NROTC at the Univ. of Memphis. Today's equivalent of my path is the STA-21 commissioning program. I highly recommend that you look into it if you desire to become an officer. The Navy also sent me to the Air Force Institute of Technology for my master's degree.

Most recently I have qualified to land the E-2C Hawkeye aboard the aircraft carrier. I will be joining my fleet squadron soon and beginning to train for my first deployment to the Middle East.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Angie (my sister)
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
She's my sister, but I'm proud of her decision to join the Navy!
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
As a Navy brother, I learned it's pretty cool having your sister become a sailor.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Ken,
I noticed on one of your comments that you were stranded at the USO on Sunday night. My husband and I were there as well. Our flight left around 0200, but up until then we hung out at the USO in a sleepy daze. I was reading a book looking irritated. Too bad we didn't chat it up with each other.

Ken,
It was so nice meeting you at Ramada on Thursday night before PIR -- we told our son Jeff about you and boy, would he love to have met you too! He is now in Pensacola, I think the sudden change came as a bit of a shock -- he sounded a bit dazed! Please let us know how you are doing, we will certainly be thinking about you as you join your fleet squadron and prepare for deployment.

Hi Ken, It was so nice getting to meet you in Great Lakes. I know you are very proud of Angie!! I saw you from a distance on Friday as you were beaming at your sister. It was all so awesome. I can't wait to hear of the new endeavors of our sailors. Keep me posted. Good luck to you and your family. Becky

Hey Ken. How was the reunion? So nice to meet you. I'm so glad that BC is over. When does Angie transfer out? Sounds like Jillian and Angie were very close despite the age difference.

Thanks Ken, I feel ...well....uniformed!!!!! Hey, I went to our DEP meeting tonight and met a girl that is out of A school with the job that you want Angela to get. She really seemed to like it. She is getting ready to go to Japan-not on a ship. She has the green stripes, so she's an airman? No ships?

Hey Ken, Sorry I missed one of our conversations. Did you say that some other division is likely to get HOF?

Hi Ken, i am not sure if you got my post thanking you for your kind words of encouragement. Your words were the ones that helped me make it through yesterday and gave me the courage to face today as well. I still haven't heard from Micahel, but the BEST scenario I can make up is that he passed his run and went off to battlestaions. No matter what, I am still leaving in the morning to fly into Great Lakes. I will watch the PIR even if Michael doesn't make it, and when he does, I will be right there supporting him. By the way, my children's dad was a C-130 pilot for the Air Force for 12 years and is now a private pilot for Saudi Arabian Air and a C-27 pilot for the Reserves. So, Michael has a little in common iwth you. I think it is so awesome of you to take and interest in so many people here. You are such an encourager and I am in awe of you!! Once again, thank you so much for all you do. God Bless you and your precious family. I will keep you posted. Becky
