About me:
I am from Silverhill, Alabama and my son Dustin is at A School in GL. I am so very proud of him but he is having alot of problems with is knee so we aren't sure if he is going to be able to stay in or get a medical discharge. Whatever happens I am still proud of him for at least trying and giving it his all. Please keep him in your prayers.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
DUSTIN
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
JOINED THE NAVY..I KNOW WHEN I SEE HIM AGAIN HE WILL BE A MAN!
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
LETTING GO.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

Annette, I was just on the A school group and saw that at the end of July Dustin was having some problems with his knees. I didn't know this until just now. How is he doing? What did the specialist say about recovery? Also, remember Adam down in Goose Creek. They are under hurricane security and starting Friday they will be contained in their dorms until the storm passes. If it were to get really bad, they will evacuate to Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC. But aren't expecting much from Hannah, don't know what to expect from the next two coming, though. Keep me posted on Dustin. Praying for a great recovery!

Hi Annette! Just checking in to see how you and Dustin are doing. Hope all is well with you all. We are good here. Adam is all settled in at Goose Creek and is really liking it there. Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Hey, sorry I haven't been in contact, things have been crazy! Joe was able to come home last weekend on a illness chit (I think) to see Granny, we left for vacation Sunday and just got home. My Granny passed away Wednesday night. We cut our trip short, thank God we were close enough to be able to make it back. Joe is on his way home for the service.
Sorry Dustin has been unable to come home, that recruiter's leave isn't as easy to get as it sounded, is it?
Hope you are feeling better!
Talk to you soon.

Hi Annette,
What a wonderful time we had at the pre-P.I.R. gathering at Flanagan's. You are terrific for organizing the party! It really was wonderful to meet a lot of the mothers I'd been talking to regularly. Check out my pictures, I have one of a group of us outside the restaurant!
Congrats to Dustin!!! I am so proud of our Sailors!!

XO,
Melanie

Hey Annette! Thank you so much for putting our dinner together. It was absolutely wonderful! You are awesome! I really enjoyed getting to meet everyone and get to know them. I wouldn't have traded it for the world. Thank you again for all the hard work you put in for the dinner. And kudos to the folks at Flanagan's for accomodating us. The service was great!

Congratulations to all of our new sailors and their families! Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. My son Jonathan will not be graduating with his division due to surgery. He will complete BS when he is allowed to return to training and then graduate with another division, hopefully 1-2 weeks. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Have a wonderful "gathering" and a terrific PIR. Way to go Sailors!!!
