Profile Information

About me:
I AM now an official Navy Mom, my daughter kim, is now a SAILOR !! She just graduated June 6, 2008. HOO YAH !!!
I am married with three children, and a house full of pets !!
I used to work full time as a medical assistant, but I came down with Meniere's Disease last year. So now I enjoy being pen pals.
I enjoy this web site, writing to other Navy Moms. This is a wonderful experience, sharing stories and getting advise from other Navy mothers.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Kimberly
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
I am so proud of my daughter, when she told me what she wanted to do with her life. She was determined and has done well in Boot Camp.
She writes with so much confidence now, so far the Navy has done wonders with her and her shyness.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
My daughters first letter after being in Boot Camp, it was heart wrenching. As the weeks went by, and I constantly encouraged her, she wrote back, telling me to stop encouraging her !!
Before she actually joined the Navy, I told her of my fears, and that not everyone is for the Military life. In my next sentence, I told her, if she does like the Navy, it is a great career.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hello Barbara,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I had my little niece here for the weekend and she's not like one of the teens. I had to keep her busy all the time. It was nice to have her over. She's named after me and it's so cute. She makes it known that she is too.

We had "Christmas in the Village" here lastnight. Down town had Santa come and they light up all the Christmas lights. They we went into the church and they had all kinds of table set up. Many different things for the little ones to do. Plus seeing Santa and getting to sit on his lap. My niece just loved it. I surprised her with it. We even took a ride a hay wagon around the block. It was a little cold but nice and it was a short ride.

After lastnight, it makes me wish I could have more children. It was nice doing things like that with a little one. I really do miss it.

So how are you?

Take care and god bless.

~Hugs & Loves, Kell
