When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Encouraged him/her

Thanks. It was nice to meet you too and I hope that all of Michael's hopes and dreams are fulfilled. I wish we had arrived early enough to meet some of the other families. I did meet Heather's Mom @ the lodge.

Hi Michelle-
The form letter wont be in the box. That is mailed separately almost a week later. My daughter has been in for only a little over two weeks and that is the only correspondence I received. I have been told that your son's recruiter has access to his mailing address even before you receive the form letter...good luck

This is the number that I called to get my son's div/ship 847 688-2405. They were very helpful. When you get the ship/div then go to this website http://www.nstc.navy.mil/rtcgl/ and click on recruit families. There will be a tab to click to contact your recruit. It will tell you how to address your envelope correctly. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

We received our first letter three weeks into boot camp. The boys will begin writin letters after three weeks. No telephone calls from the boys until three weeks. They will not receive mail from you until three weeks, so not necessary to have the address until then. They will never receive mail on Saturdays or Sundays.
