Hi Wendy~
So nice to hear from someone whom has a son in Groton as well. My son just got to sub school in September and is loving it, he is going to be a nuclear missle tech, we are very proud of him, and he does his "A" school there as well.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we did, I got the best gift ever, my son had said he was staying there at school and he would be home for Christmas, well his girlfriend drove down in the morning and brought him home, totally surprised us! I was crying, every precious moment we have is such a blessing. We havn't seen him since graduation at Great Lakes and so it was awesome! We can't wait for Christmas. His brother and sister flipped when they saw their big brother, it was such an incredible day! Did your son get home for Thankgsgiving? You must be so proud of him. They grow up and change so fast and become such wonderful men in the Navy.
We are planning to go to Groton next week end to see him, it's his younger brothers B~day... Pearl harbor Day... so he wants to go see his brother and check out everything, I think it will be neat, I know there is not a whole lot to do but at least the guys can see where his barracks are and stuff. Do you have any ideas of what else we can do down there? I'm not sure if you have been but I am hoping. My mother is from Connecticut but not to close to Groton so I was just wondering what else we could see or checkout. If you have any ideas by all means please drop me a note, I'd so apprciate it.
Thanks so much Wendy for the hello, and making me feel welcome.
Talk soon~

HI Wendy- How have you been lately? Things here have been pretty busy with the younger kids and school. They just finished the 1st 9 weeks and both got straight A's. I was shocked. Tyler will be coming home for Christmas on the 15th of December but then he will be flying back on the 25th. We had a heck of a time getting flights booked for him. So his CO's told him to have us book somthing and they would work with him. He is loving Groton, I know he put into stay there along with other places, so I guess we will see. He will be finished February 6th. He will be going into Sonar, said he is liking it so far. He isn't looking forward to spending Thanksgiving there alone, but I told him he would be okay.. Would love to go and spend it with him, but there is no way that is gonna happen. Well, I guess I had better get some work done before my boss comes in. Talk to you later.

Hi Wendy,
Did you enjoy the commissioning? We sure did. I really enjoyed seeing the crew. Too bad we didn't get a tour of the sub. We never made it to lunch to meet everyone. The other people I was with had to get home so we stopped in Exeter on the way home. I am hoping I will get a chance to meet everyone sometime soon. Does Alex know what his job on the sub will be yet? Do you know where he will eventually be stationed? It seems like we all spend a lot of time just waiting for information. Hope you enjoyed yourself and all is going well.
Take care, Lynn

Hey Wendy! Actually, it's Sunsetview Campground. It's located on the grounds of the old Town Farm or Poor Farm (before public assistance). Small world, isn't it?

Hi Wendy! I'll be at the commissioning too with my husband, my daughter and her husband, and my sailor's wife and two daughters. I'm from Monson, Mass. about 12 miles east of Springfield. Hope your son gets the assignment he wants.

Hi Wendy,
The instructions with the tickets say everyone has to be seated by 9:30 and we all have to go through security and take a shuttle to where the ceremony is. I want to get there at 8:00 so we have plenty of time and will get good seats. It says there is a reception at the Mall following the ceremony and the shuttle will take you there. I am not sure what that is all about. We are taking two teen-agers with us (children of our close friends) so I am not sure if we are going to have lunch with everyone else or not. I would like to but I only get one vote, we'll see.
Take care, Lynn

Hi Wendy,
Yipppeee! We got our tickets today. I can't wait to see the commissioning on the 25th. My son is at sea now so I need to feel close to him and this ceremony is just the thing.
