My son/daughter is:
Thinking about joining
I was the proudest of my child when:
He decided to enlist to serve his country and improve his career options. He decided to go for a separation due to a defective enlistment, kept his Navy bearings thru the separation period, even tho angry at the bait and switch the recruiters pulled
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her, Said “No way!”
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
Recruiters are not to be trusted.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience

President John F. Kennedy Naval Record PT 109

http://www.jfklibrary.org/Historical+Resources/JFK+in+History/John+F.+Kennedy+and+PT109.htm Remembering the courage shown by John kennedy in WW2 leading PT109 at a point where the Japanese were way ahead in WW2, how he courageously lead his men after the PT boat was sunk to safety, I just read the book PT109 . and was impressed by the leadership he showed thru that time. Mourning his loss 45 years ago today.

Rose -
I'm sorry that things aren't going well for your family. It is really hard to have the holidays when one of your parents has died. I comfort myself by remembering that if they hadn't been such good parents, I wouldn't miss them so much. I'm sure your future looks a little scary if you're afraid that your husband won't be able to work again and Matt isn't working either. I don't know how it will work out, but I do know and believe that the good Lord will see you through. My twin sister, Eileen, is going into the hospital this week for a stem cell transplant. She is part of a clinical trial at Sloan-Kettering Memporial Cancer Hospital in New York. It sounds pretty grueling, but it is the only chance they have given her to become cancer-free. She has the rarest form of brain cancer and has had two brain surgeries in the last 8 years. Please pray for her if the good Lord brings her to mind.
Stay strong, Rose, and remember that our Heavenly Father will faithfully make a way for us somehow. Ellen

Rose,

I keep asking her about the HIPPA form but she says she doesn't know how or where to get it. She went to Indoc today and said she will see legal next week and probably be discharged the week after. She will see the docs on Friday. Is there any way she can sign the form before then? I get so little info out of her and she gets frustrated with me for bombarding her with questions during her 10 minute calls because all she wants to talk about is home!

Unfortunetly, his moms not really in the picture. He has myself and my mom that he is the closest to. So thats why I decided to call. As far as his medical issue, hes being sent home due to an eye problem so no real medical attention needs to be paid. Hes just ready to get out of there already.

Hi Rose.
I called legal today, they said that they do have the separation paperwork for him, however he hadnt signed the privacy waiver so they couldnt discuss his case with me. She did say that he should be in there in a couple of days probably wednesday to sign paperwork. If they give you an idea of a date like that are they usually right? I sure am hoping that she was!

Hi Rose: Like you, we had a little change in the holiday routine. It was the first since my father passed away and the second without my sailor home. The good thing was everyone took a turn speaking with Joe on the webcam. It was a nice day, but the mood was a little different without my father. My mother is having a very difficult time adjusting to life without him and my brother and I are just at a loss at how to help her. Thanks for thinking of us. Hope all is well with you.

Rose..I am so sorry to hear that your hubby and son lost their jobs. Hopefully with the new President coming into power things will change fast..I hope so!!!! We had a very quiet Thanksgiving just hubby and I neither of our sons could get home. The oldest cooked at his home in Maryland (bachelor style...LOL) and Ryan didn't have enough time off to get home and back. They should both be here for Christmas so I am looking forward to that. Hubby and I have been very busy with a lot of remodeling and are moving along on that....Take Care!!!!!!
