Profile

About me:
I currently work at our local school as a secretary to the Secondary Principal and attend Empire State College as a full time student.
I have four boys and three grandchildren.
My child's first name:
Matthew
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
I was the proudest of my son when he graduated from high school. Now I have to say I was the proudest of Matthew when I saw him come through the doors at PIR on June 6th, 2008.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Said “No way!”
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
How much it hurts to see them go away and not hearing his voice every day. Ok, now I have to change this too. The most important thing I learned was how to let go of my son and let him grow into a mature individual. In the eight weeks he was at boot camp, he grew into a man that I am so very proud of. As I watched my son and the other sailors march in front of me at graduation on 6/6/08, I learned a new meaning for the words respect and honor.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Dear Denise,
Hey girlfriend, I haven't heard from you in a couple of days.
Since the graduation, other than you, I haven't heard from anyone. I'm lonely, I look forward to receiving messages.
Tomorrow my twin Godsons graduate from Junior High School. It's like not long ago I held them in my arms !! I asked my girlfriend about whose going to the graduation, seats are extremely limited. She has her aunt and uncle visiting, but they don't love the boys, they only met for the first time, last week.
Winds up, the boys have seperate times for graduation, my poor girlfriend, twice in one day, and no air conditoning in this tiny autorturium. So, I'll see one Godson before he graduates, and I'll attend the 1 PM graduation.
Hope to hear from you soon, I miss you !

Dear Denise,
Has Mathew called yet ? I would call the Boot Camp or email the Boot Camp.
God willing we'll meet tomorrow at the Ramanda Inn.
Have a safe journey.

My fever broke early this morning. I am feeling somewhat better. I never had any attentions of not attending the PIR. I was wondering how I would do it but still planned to do it.

Just cant wait until I can wrap my arms around her! I told her to be prepare to be tackled!! JUst kidding. She's a great soul. Love her so much. My daughter is in Div208Ship11,19yrs young! I'm sooo proud of her. We're almost done w/this waiting for the Thursday letters. The 4day w/no communication is a killer. I'm so glad to see the love in this group. MOMs are great!! This site is such a blessing. How are you holding up. What will your son be doing for the Navy? Where is his A School? Oh and Yes we will be there on thursday night. Sounds like a great idea! Other Denise,
It is getting closer. Of course I am excited, about as much as you. We got a letter on Thursday but no phone call. She has only called once in all this time. Did get one from my son and that made my day.
It does look like a we will have a nice size crowd for thursday. That is exciting as well. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Ok...now I understand why Matthew said Chase was a "Nuke". When he writes, all he mentions are last names. Guess that's what they call each other by but I only know the first name. Where do you live now? Is South Carolina far from you? When does he leave for "A" school after graduation? Matthew goes to Virginia on June 11th which is only about 8 hours from us so we will be able to visit more than what we thought we would be able to. Too bad he has to leave so soon after graduation...would have like for him to be able to come home for at least a couple of days. Take care and talk to you soon.
Denise
