Marie it looks like you might want to put the information you sent me on the main discussion board. I have a feeling more moms will want to know about going active from reserve. You have found a great support group here so it might be easier this time. It looks like you used your industrial scissors to cut through that red tape. I hope you get all of your questions answered next week. Maybe you should send a questionaire with your hubby for the recruiter to fill out. :)

Marie, I am wondering if you can tell me how difficult it was to make the change from reserve to enlisted. My son is enlisted, but my nephew went to bc in January and has completed his A school and is now back at home bored and restless. He really would like to switch to enlisted but he heard that it cannot be done until his current contract of six years is completed. Love to know how it worked out for your husband, how long was he enlisted? What rate is he? Will he remain that rate when he goes enlisted? Does he go back thru boot camp?

It just amazes me how much red tape there is for a man wanting nothing more than to serve his country. I hope everything goes more smoothly for you. Please tell your husband thank you for me. And thank you for your reply.

Marie, may I ask how difficult it is for your husband to go active after being in the reserves? I've read that it is very hard to get into actives from reserve status. My son is in the TAR program. (totally active reserve) and I am just curious.
