About me:
I am the proud mother of three boys (young men). Corey is in GL right now, Anthony is the oldest, and my youngest is Lucas.I also am fortunate enough to be married to my soul mate and best friend. We all love sports! We love the Red Sox, Boston Celtics and the boys and I are huge Washington Redskins fans. My husband is a New England Patriots fan.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Corey
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
Corey is a natural athlete, so sports have always come easy for him. He excelled at everything he did even though he didn't put much effort into it. But what he is doing with his life right now far outweighs any on the field achievements. He is so proud of himself for his choice he made to join the Nany, and to see that in him makes me beam with pride.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
To support my son with whatever choice he makes for himself. Even if it means him being far away, and me missing him like crazy.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Kim, I'm so excited to know Corey is at A school with Jared. I just sent Jared a text message to ask if he has met him. Jared has called quite often this past week :) What a difference! Jared told me that on Fri. they were up at 4:30a.m. for a 5 mile run...they run 2 on Mon. and Wed. He is looking forward to getting started in classes...all they have been doing is standing watch and cleaning.

Hi Kim,
Where are you? How is Corey? It was so nice meeting you. I have told several people you are one of those you meet and instantly know you are such a nice person. Hope all is well!

Hi Kim,
I have to tell you I asked TJ about Corey. He said "Witham?" He is hilarious. He always kept us laughing. TJ said he was a good guy. So, your son made an impact on mine. How did your weekend go? I still have that family picture to send to you if you can give me an email address.

Wow, Kim, that video is unbelievable. I have read about that father and son, and it is beautiful to see them. I still don't know where Jim is, but I'll send you his address when I get it. Hope your weekend is perfect! I know you'll be so thrilled and proud of your son. I want to hear all about it!!

Kim, thank you so much for asking for prayer for Jim. I would love for you to send him a card. I have his address in Ship 17, but I'm hoping that he'll be assigned to a division a few weeks back from where he was so that he can finish training. So, hopefully, he'll have a new address today. I will let you know.
Have you heard if your son's group has passed Battlestations? I know you're getting excited about PIR - have a great time and hug your baby!!
Thank you again. Ellen

Kim-
I read your kind note on the PIR 5/23 discussion. Thank you so much for remembering us! I really appreciate your prayers for Jim. I am sure that he is scared and disappointed, but we could hear determination and calmness in his voice, too. We will wait on the Lord, and know that trials strengthen our faith.
Congratulations to your almost-Sailor! Thanks again for your kindness. Ellen
