PROUD NAVY MOM!

Profile Information

About me:
I'm married and a mother of two wonderful boys. "J.R.", 21 who is an ABEAA aboard the USS Stennis and Jeremy 14 whose a freshmen in High School. I work at Northern Panhandle Head Start's Central Office as a Data Management/Quality Assurance Clerk , our Head Start program encompasses 5 counties in Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
"J.R."
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
He made the decision to join the Navy and to get out of our little hometown that has nothing to offer. Proud he made the decision to better himself and to serve our country!
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was confused, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
The power of prayer. Stock up on Kleenex. Strangers on the internet make the best of friends in your time of need. THE NAVY HAS THE MOST LOVING OF ALL MOMS -- THEY ARE THERE FOR YOU THROUGH THICK OR THIN, EVERYTIME!!!!!
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
We’re distant

Hey Renee, I'm not sure if you know about this site or not but you can read all about the USS Stennis and other things going on with the Navy. http://www.navy.mil/local/cvn74/ if this site doesn't work, just try www.navy.mil then look around for articles on the USS Stennis. Its pretty cool what they have been doing out there. Call me later if you want to chat. Remember call the cell, I have no home number anymore. Talk soon - Cyndi

Hi Renee, thinking of you today and wondering how you're feeling. I hope you've had the chance to talk with your son and have some peace in your heart. Keep me posted and remember to send me your son's address on a PM so I can send him a care package for Christmas! TTYS, Jeanette

Hi Renee, you are on my friend's list, so please feel free to PM me anytime. I'll be glad to give you my phone number as well so anytime you want to talk I'll be glad to listen. I cannot imagine the anxiety you must be having worrying about everything. I know you must be ready to get it over with. Please tell me more about your family! I really enjoyed looking at all of your pictures! Prayers and hugs, Jeanette

Hi Renee, I just read your post on the Stennis site. I'm sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery and I will be praying for the best outcome. I know you must be really worried. I hope that you have good family support. I would love to send a care package to your son too! When you get his address would you please send me a private message with his address and his likes and dislikes so that I can get a package ready for the holidays? Please keep me posted on your condition and I will keep you in my daily prayers. Your friend, Jeanette

Hi Renee,
I don't have anything from Alan yet either. I think they have to go through the indoctrination before they get an address or at least e-mail. I read that on one of these groups somewhere. I'm so sorry for your health problems, please try not to worry about your son, the Navy will take care of him. Concentrate on getting well. Is Justin an ABH also?
