About me:
I am a married mother of three wonderful boys. My oldest is 20, and a very talented artist in college on an art scholarship. My middle is 19, and my seabee. My youngest is 17, and very interested in sports.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Ray
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
I would have to say that the pride that was felt during my sons PIR was overwhelming!!!!!!!! My eyes start swelling with tears everytime I review it in my mind. Watching my son walk in the auditorium so tall and proud has got to be one of the best feelings in the world.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
That the Navy is..........................Hurry up and wait!! Other than that, they are great. Also, your child goes through so many changes while he is away from you but deep down inside he is still the boy that left for bootcamp!!
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made
Have your own Web site?

I AM SO PROUD OF MY SEABEE, I FEEL LIKE I COULD EXPLODE!!!!!!!

We are always asked how close are we to Chicago. That's another state as far as the government is concerned. My Mom laughed when we got Pulaski Day off--she grew up in Mt. Prospect and knew the officer history, but they didn't get days off like that way back when. (PS. I graduated from SIU-C!)

I was beginning to think there was no one within the 250 miles on this site. Glad to hear from you!

First--what a good looking sailor you have! I am waiting until 8/08 to see my new and improved son! We are in Troy, at mile marker 18 at the intersection of I 55/70. Actually only about 20 miles out of St.Louis. So, we have the best of both worlds--small town by big city. Where are you located?

hi i was wondering what your son is doing in Gulfport now? Did you go to the grad? I want to get to MS so bad, but airfares are horrible! Driving at these prices won't help much either. Justin has made it to phase 3" and seems pretty happy. He is pouring concrete now. Nice hot days! He tells me he still eats mostly at the regular chow line', i am glad he doesnt waste money on food. he is not a real picky eater and i have sent cookies and brownies as has his grandma. I do miss him even though we talk by phone 3-4 times a week and through emails. He is gettin' a bit anxious to come home and visit his family. He was very close with his cousins. he also misses his jet ski and motorcycle! Hope all is well on your end!

I am sure that he will, we have many good memories of the years my husband was in. We traveled to many places, lived in some really nice places, met many wonderful people that we still 20 years later keep in touch with. And I can honestly say the seebeas take care of their own. And some of the bases they end up on aren't half bad either.
