Profile Information

About me:
I am very proud of both my sons ages 21 and 10. I have been married to the same man for 23 years, and still love the dude. I am very family oriented and love my friends on N4M (You know who you are). I am member 238 on here, and am very proud of that.
I have been told that I have a good sense of humor. I do like to laugh a lot.

Now that The Beast is not in BUD's anymore, I can post pictures again (yeah!)
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
The Beast
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
I am very proud of my child. He loves the Navy and is growing into adulthood doing what he loves. I was most proud recently when he made the right decision to help his buddies even though it involved some risk to himself. He did the right and honorable thing
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
Cell phones are good, and don't send fish in the mail. I have also learned that I love watching my son grow into adulthood.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

I'M FREE

Hi My long lost FRIENDS!!! My class is over, and I am so happy to be done. I have taken a lot of classes, and consider my self fairly smart, and this one was really a challenge. I guess those things that don't kill you make you stronger. Thank you all for your kind words and friendship. I promise not to whine next quarter when I take Managerial Finiance (yuck).

I miss my Navy Mom Friends

Hi Friends, I wanted to let all my Navy mom friends know that I am not ignoring you, and I miss you all. I am taking Managerial Accounting for my MBA program, and it is KICKING MY BUTT. I have been spending 4-5 hours a night studying after work. I have no life, and am feeling pretty darn sorry about it. I just took the mid term and barely passed. I have never worked so hard for a C. I will be back, and I miss you all

Thanks for the support. Education has changed so much in the last 5 years alone. It is a tough job. What will you do w/ the MBA when you're done? I hope the job that's waiting for you offers big bucks! : ) Beth

Hi Mom of The Beast,
LMAO, we seemed fated to meet with our mutual oddly named sons. Yes, we were also very pleased when the Turkey was finally out of San Diego after dropping from BUDS, and on his way to a good rate and one that he was excited about, Rescue Swimmer. I have to chuckle a bit over the moms stressing because their son or daughter are in a holding pattern to class up, which the beast will go through too. The Turkey waited in San Diego for about 6 months to find another rate. Unfortunately, the mentality with the other rates was "We know you dropped from BUDS and we are just your second choice, so why should we take you in?" Since his father and I are prior military, we were able to encourage the Turkey to hold out until he got what he really wanted and not let them bully him into a rate that he would be miserable in. Did the Beast go through this too?

I am still getting the hang of navigating on the site. I saw your blog that you are in the middle of getting your MBA. I'm a little humbled. Here I was grumping because I have to do an online course for my reading endorsement, meanwhile.... you are taking Accounting. Yuck! My undergraduate degree is Marketing. My Accounting class was the only C I got in college. I'd start to read a chapter and instantly fall alseep! Good luck. Happy studying! Beth
