Profile Information

About me:
I am a married mother of 2. My 18 year old daughter just graduated from Boot Camp and is in San Antonio, TX for Master at Arms A school. She has loved her experience so far (yes, boot camp!!) and we are so proud of her!!
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Maryssa
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
She chose to join and wouldn't sign until they gave her the job she wanted - even leaving and retesting one month later to ensure no problems with getting MA.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
The support and information on this site has made my daughter being gone easier.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made

After reading your profile, I think our girls are together in San Antonio. Sam graduated 11/7 from div 951 ship 06. She is coming home too on Dec 20 and going back on Jan 4 and I also am very nervous to see where she "Goes" after school.

I would like to look into getting that banner, if you would like to e mail it to me. My daughter Sam carried the UTAH flag on November 7th (even though we're from Minnesota).

I am so jealous that you get to see your daughter. I am really missing Zakri, his birthday is next week... hope you have a great visit in San Antonio... He just sent me a picture of himself and he really looks great.... I just wanta give him a big hug... He should be back from Bahrain in late March or Early April... home for a couple of weeks and then off again... his new wife is hating the navy life right now, but knows that it will be great for them in the long run..... Give your daughter a smooch for me and tell her thanks for serving her country..... We are all so proud of our sailors......

God Bless you and your family
Tabbie

Kristen, My son is in SA. Wish I could spend Thanksgiving with him. If you see him or if your daughter knows him, send him a hug for me. I will be going down there the 3rd of Dec for his graduation.

Hi Kristen,
Been off the site for awhile. Good to meet you at PIR! Our daughters are now neatly tucked away at A schools and what are the moms to do? Meagan is in 'holding' until sometime in March or April....but she IS in Pensacola! Yipee! Who knows when she will graduate...some time in May/June 2009? Conner will be graduating December 12 and coming home on 12/13!! He is really enjoying his training but may miss his friends back home. He is headed to Kings Bay, Georgia after his leave. I am completely in the dark on what that's all about. Are you talking with Maryssa on a regular basis? Are you going to San Antonio for Thanksgiving?
