Kathy,
We actually are leaving today, 8/25/08!! We are planning to start driving at about 0930 or 1000. We may take two days to get there, we will take it one hour at a time. All toll it's about a 13 hour drive. We have camping reservations on base!! We also still have carl's business card with his cell phone number on it. We will call him when we arrive which will most likely be tuesday.
Can't wait to see you both again, it will be fun!

Kathy, Hi !! Thanks for the travel tip... We will have to look it up before we go. Yes, we are going to pull a camper. It is a thirteen hour drive from here, and we were going to make it a two day trip and take our time. We should save money in hotel fees though. Maureen makes reference to a bar on base, She will go with some friends, occasionally. She has an exam today 7/7/08, and we will talk to her later tonight. Talk to you soon... Rae Ann

Kathy, Maureen isn't playing in the band now that she has graduated bootcamp. She is busy studying for her corpsmen classes. She's trying to adapt to her new life. As each day passes, it is getting easier for her. We are going to stay on base at the camp ground. It's right on the lake, and it's 15 dollars a nite. Can't beat that, so now we just have to pay the extra gas it's going to take to get up there. Hotel expences were between $850 and $1100 for a week, not including food. Oh well, We are so looking forward to our trip!! Can't wait to see maureen!! She is happy that we are staying on base, she said it will be easier for her to see us. I plan on buying a GPS system, or borrow one from my brother.

Kathy and Carl, Yes, it was very nice to meet you and carl thursday nite. PIR was very nice!! We got teary eyed. We found our way to the pier with afew wrong turns, but got there safely. we went to the aquarium, but they closed at three o'clock just as we were getting there, darn!! Our flight home was sunday morning. Our Maureen called as we were in the airport saying she was done her watch, could we come over, but we couldn't. We hope she paired up with someone and maybe went back to see the aquarium, but we will have to wait for her to call. She gets her orders monday, hopefully we will hear from her. We extended your invitation to her, she seemed happy about that. I will be going back up there once she knows what she can have from home. Maybe we can meet up again? Hope to hear from you
