Profile Information

About me:
Navy Mom from Texas. I was a Navy brat and my grandfather was in the Navy. My Son is third generation. My dad is so proud. I am a single mom now of 3 boys 12, 15, 20 and loving it. I came to Texas from California. What a change. I was an OR Nurse and left that to do sports massage so I have freedom to be with my kids.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Kid
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
He made the decision to join the Navy and actually left. Sticking with it through out his stress fractures he grew up. He was always the one to challenge authority and anything else in his path had to be done the hard way, so when he joined I said Lord Help the Navy. To my delight he is making it and had to fight to stay towards the end of the stress fractures. He is such a bright child with great ideas I am sure he will go far. He has found the Lord again thru the Navy and is attending services. What a difference a day makes.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
Its harder than I thought to let go! I think I may have taught him to be a little too independent if thats possible. Patience is a definite virtue I thought I had till I had to wait for his letters to finally get to me.

My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Sailors Creed
I am a United States Sailor.
I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and I will obey the orders of those appointed over me.
I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and all who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.
I proudly serve my country’s Navy combat team with Honor, Courage and Commitment .
I am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all.

Now sit right back and you'll hear a tale a tale of a faithful trip.........

Okay guys I have never blogged so bear with me and my Gilligan's island theme. We started this journey Feb 20th when He left for GL and man did the umbilical cord get cut. First I thought I was going to get a call and nothing came so I called the recruiter and got nowhere. I was just another one of those moms. Then came the proverbial box and still nothing, next day the form letter with I love you at the bottom. Still nothing, then 2 and a half weeks later I get the call which of course it was 5… Continue

Season's of Friends

People always come into your life for a reason, a season and a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, or to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are. They are there for a reason, you need them to… Continue

Hey, I wonder if they'll even room together :) You know how they room the same classes together. At least I know his last name now ;)

No, Drew didn't say anything. He is very good about keeping things to himself, too. I'll probably know more after tomorrow. He will be home tomorrow (He has watch today), and will be home until Sunday. I do know he is looking forward to starting school. It's hard for them being on hold.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm sorry you don't get to see your boy today :( We won't be doing anything today. Everything will be on Saturday.

Hello Friend,
I heard from Drew today. He is classing up on Monday for ET Nav. He is excited to get back to classes. He really did not like being on hold! Let me know if Chris got in the same class. It would be awesome if they were in the same class :)

Hi Lois,
It is getting cold here. I registered 26 degrees at noon. Brrrr. Drew is on hold for A School, so he and Chris might actually be in the same class! As far as Chris and the girlfriend, it shows he certainly has questions and doubts. Once he's out in the fleet, who knows? Drew wants the Pacific fleet, Guam or Hawaii to be more specific. He is anxious to get out into the fleet. Does Chris get to come home for the holidays? I remember you had told me about maybe going to CT for Thanksgiving. Are you still planning on that? I'm not sure how long Drew will be able to come home for Thanksgiving because he has duty on Thanksgiving. He will only be able to come home on Friday, so we have switched our Thanksgiving dinner until Saturday. It was great to hear from you! Keep in touch.

Everything is getting really crazy now, it seems nothing is going exactly right. Just have to keep telling myself, we will get through this! I remember something M said to me not long ago about the girlfriend. He asked me why I talked to Jacki (the girlfriend) knowing I didn't care for her. I told him, this is who you choose to spend time with so I have to make the best of it because you are my son and I want you in my life. I'm done preaching, but LOL they seem to be on the outs again!!! There's always HOPE!!! Hang in there! Thanks for the good wishes!

How old are they? How long have they been seeing each other? I went through this with my daughter just after she graduated high school. I suspected they were seeing each other through her senior year and probably before but couldn't prove anything. He was much older. As soon as she was done with High school they took off for Florida. I found I couldn't say much or she would just turn me off. It wasn't long before she realized she had made a mistake. I would talk to her when ever she needed me to let her know I would always be there, but did not support her financialy. I asked friends and family to do the same. I did not talk much about him as hard as that was, unless she said something. But still tried not to bad mouth him. It still took close to a year before she came home. It was hard to admit she had made a mistake. It had to run it's course and it did. Just listen to him and try not to say anything . I spent alot of time crying, but she smartened up. You want to keep the lines of communication open. If you need to talk you have my #.
