Profile Information

About me:
My name is Toni. I am from Guilderland, New York. I met my husband R.J. at work and have been with him since 2002. R.J. Enlisted in the Navy 08/2006 as a Seabee, (Construction Electrician) he is stationed out of CBC Gulfport Mississippi. We got married on 08/2007, after he returned from his first deployment in Kuwait. R.J. is currently deployed in Guam. He is the love of my life and my World. He is building a great future for the two of us through the Navy.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Robert Jason "R.J." (Husband)
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted, Overseas
I was the proudest of my child when:
I am prouder of him everyday...
When he told me he wanted to join to make a better future for us.
When he swore in at MEPS.
When he graduated boot camp.
Graduating CE a-school,
Becoming safety supervisor during his first deployment in Kuwait.
When he got frocked, E4.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
Nothing stands in the way of true love, not even the Navy.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience

Wow $3 a month for unlimited calls. I'm gonna have to tell him about that. Yeah we both have computer but we don't have wireless yet. Plus we gotta buy a webcam for my desktop. Yeah I agree that the webcam will help while he is gone.

Hey I thought of another question. Since it seems like my husband will be deployed to Guam pretty soon thought I'd ask you how it all goes down...
What was the best way to communicate with him.. cell phone... web cast... Does he have Wi-Fi connection there? Stuff like that. Hope you are having a great Thanks giving!

Yeah I was thinking that you went through a similar situation. Its gonna be really hard... but we will get through it. I've just got to decide if I want to move before him. Plus figuring out all the housing issues... Wonder if we can start working on the housing situation while he is doing the combat training? What do you think? What is the name of the group on the base that you talk to about housing?

Well we are Port Hueneme bound. He got his orders last night. He will be in nmcb 40... but he is going to combat training first in gulfport for about 30 days. Then report to Port Hueneme, CA on Feb 9th. That battalion is scheduled to deploy in March to Guam. So I'm kinda sad beacause we really won't get much time together. Plus I have to decide if I'm going to go ahead and move to PH or just wait til right before he comes back. I'm sure we will find out more as time goes along. But at least we know where we will be.

Thanks for the websites! I'm gonna check them out. I don't think that we want to buy anything... so I'm gonna stick to renting for a while.

He changed his wish list to MS and begged for 133 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I know is easier for them to tell him that they can get him MS but they won't guarantee him which battalion. He is thinking that he will find out next week!
Thanks for the suggestion on apts! Man I would love to be able to walk to the beach. Do you think that we could find a house in that budget of 1044? Or is it just better to stick with an apt? Thanks for all your help!
