Thats where we (my sailor) are lucky , he will not have to do retraining as he is putting all the electrical systems into the ship. He is getting better training now then he ever would get out to sea. LOL

Hey Kathy! I actually have 2 sons on carriers. Jake is my oldest and is on the Carl Vinson. I have not talked to him in a few days, so I'm not sure that he has moved onto the ship yet although he did say it was going to be this week. Jake was hoping that the ship was going to San Diego soon because his younger brother is on the Ronald Reagan which is based out there. They are currently deployed. Both are doing well, thank goodness and so far are very proud of their choice to enlist in the Navy. That makes momma feel proud and happy too!

LOL I understand ~ where on myspace do you find navy moms. OR better yet HOW do you find Navy moms ?
My son said he is now moved on the CV also ~ I believe the reason so soon is because it saves the navy money that way, and free's up base space. I wish they were on base until deployment because ship life is not going to be that fun, but oh well. Whats your son's job ? Mine is a EM *snipe*

Hi Kathy, thanks for the friend request. My son's PIR was 6-6-08. He is also studying to become an OS. He was suppose to start A school on 6-22, but everything got back logged, due to so many recruits applying for the same position. In the meantime he's attending night school(kind of a preliminary school), while waiting for a spot to open in A school. He has much more liberty now than he did in BC, so he's OK with it. Michael is newly married (5 mos.), and I think the wait is harder on his wife. She's staying with us until he completes A school.

HI Kathy...and happy Monday! My David is 22. He is a machinest mate also a fireman. Not like a fireman as we think of a fireman, but if there is a hazordous spill or an electircal fire, he is on it. He will also doing machinest work too. I just spoke with my son yesterday to wish him a happy fathers day. He informed me that his wife and baby are coming home here in about 2 weeks and he will follow in August. She is very young and is very home sick, so he is sending her home for a month. That will be great to see my granddaughter. I know I wont get to see too much of him in August as her family dominates all his time...yea..it's one of those situations. I think they are also coming home over the holidays too.

IF they get underway in March to come to San Diego, that means they will probably pull in port sometime in September. September is also my son's birthday!

Well, I got to get to work. I will talk to you soon.

Dayna
