Jim...I'm so glad to hear things are going well for Scott...congratulations!!! Michael has had a rough go for the past 3 months...but he finally found a job & think things are starting to look up for him...since Michael received an RE-3 he is considering enlisting in the Army in January or February...I'm trying to get him to wait a bit longer...but we will see...glad to hear from you...don't be a stranger...Ruth

Jim...we did not attend the Corpsmen graduation ceremony. Our son told us not to come, since he had not yet received his flight tickets and they told him that he could not leave after the graduation without his tickets. So we did not attend.

Turned out that they gave David the flight tickets AT the ceremony afterall, so we could have attended. He just caught a train home after the ceremony and all went fine, since we live so close to Great Lakes. I do think that all you do is go to the guard gate and they let you in for the ceremony. They don't give ANY information regarding the Corpsmen graduation program. I guess it is nice...just a few parents attend. It starts early in the morning...around 9.

No I don't think they do. I remember my daughter's graduation and all we did was tell the guards at the gate her name and that she was graduating from Corps School( I think they had a list of names) and they told us where to go, but things may have changed,I will ask my daughter tonight.

Thanks--we have our hotel as a gal-pal is going with us and we had to get a 2 room suite. Andy has always liked home cooked food, so that gives us a dining option if he prefers not to eat out. Also, I am glad to know how much cash to take for shirts, etc.
Think we may take the hint to part outside the drive through area and walk in--hear it's about a block away. It always takes us longer at the airport when we drive the van to get it inspected.
And yes, we plan on early wake up on PIR day! (not that I am anxious to have a good seat to see our son or anything!)
