Hi Rosa Thanks for adding me as a friend. I still am having trouble as to where to leave a message etc. My grandson started Boot camp on May 28th he is DIV 250 Suip 09. What about yours. Good luck to all of our sailors. Gayle

Hi Rosa,

I saw your message on the Catholic mom's group page. Welcome. If you have not gotten your son's address yet, don't worry - you will. After they go to Great Lakes and send their box of stuff home, you will also get a two-page letter with your son's address. And there will be a place on it for him to write a short note to you.

After that, it's just like the other ladies' said - he will be able to call home but not always as often as you would like. He will be able to write letters, but the mail will be slow. It's hard waiting - but you will hear from him one way or another.

Praying for all our sailors - ~Nancy

How are you doing? I am glad you received the box. It was hard for me but at the same time I felt a little closer to him. I received a call on Friday and it was great! I got to talk to him for 10 minutes. If I remember correctly, you should receive a form letter were the sailor can write a little something then you should get your first letter not long after that.

Hi Rosa, No I am not sure about the commissary. I found that they can call when the RDC tells them they call. That depends on the division as a group. If one in the group does not follow rules, it can make it bad for the rest of them. Have you received letters yet? Hang in there and it is nice meeting you.
