About me:
I am married to a wonderful man on 04/20/2008 we have been married 6 yrs.We like to do car shows.
He is my best friend other then my children this man is my life.
He makes everything all better when everything goes wrong.
I am happy to say my husband is a very understanding person because I spend a lot of time connecting with the world and outher moms.
But he is all ways there to hold me when the phone calls don't come in(Because my son is not able to call for one reason or another.
I am a mother of 3
One in the Navy and I am so proud of him for what he is doing.
My son is 18 and will be 19 the 28 of April
He is in Pensacola,Fl.
He is in " A " school for computers.
They said after school he may be going to a ship.
I have one who is married to a pastor.
They have been married for 8 years they have 2 little girls.
I am very proud of her just as well.
I have one we don't know where he is he is a hard child that we can't do anything but pray for him.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Kenneth Scott
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
When he got out of High School
When he got out of Boot Camp
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
That he will always be 500 miles from trouble.
But I am glad that my son is not on the Land.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

The meeting of the Inlaws to be.

This meeting went well. The family's got to get together and meet and talk a little bet. This went better than I was thinking it would go. I am not to sure if her mom likes me. But I am remembering I am not Marrying her our children are getting married. So she don't have to like me. But If we all could meet in the middle it would be nice. But over all it went well. Thanks to the praying because I prayed that the Lord would help with this.. I think he helped a Lot...

The Wedding has been moved.

I am so up set I don't know what to do. On Thursday evening I got to talk to the mother of my sons girlfriend. There had been some talk of when he gets back from the short run to sea (21 days) That they would go to the court house and get married. This was to take place before he went out for his 7 months. The mother and I talked and we was on the same page that the wedding was going to be in June 09 in Tenn. This was about 9pm. in N.C. time. Hi Carol,
So you're gaining a new daughter - how wonderful! Congrats on that. Helping to plan their wedding will help pass the time until Kenneth comes home. I'm jealous!
I for some reason am having a hard time today...most days aren't this bad. Part of it is that I am so frustrated about the mail getting to them onboard ship. My mom, sister and I each mailed Danny a package on October 6th, and then I mailed him on on October 11th. He got the one I mailed on the 11th on the 18th (couldn't believe only a week to get to him!), but he has yet to get the packages that were sent on the 6th. One of is duties is to catch the COD's when they come in once or twice a day, and every time he catches one and doesn't have any of the packages he's anticipating, he gets more depressed! It breaks my heart! So I am weepy today. :-(
I just said a little prayer that at least one of them gets to him today, so that he I can read the excitement again from him. I think I have truly figured out how very important those packages are to the kids...they are a little normalcy in a sea of unrest.
Well, I'm sorry - I didn't plan to go down this road when I came here to tell you hi...my heart is just hurting today. gonna be a long day missing him this day!

Hi Carol! I would love to get to meet you on this wonderful site to talk about our wonderful young Sailors. What does your son do on the TR? Mine is an Aviation Technician. This is his first deployment and so far he is rather enjoying it - he says its great to see his training actually get put into practical use. He's matured so much just since deployment - I am amazed at my wonderful young man...I'm sure you know that feeling! Well, write when you can; I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great afternoon!

Hi....my son James is aboard the Roosevelt too. He's an AM.
I can hardly believe they're leaving so ....soon. I'm nervous, but I know he'll be ok. I know he's torn between wanting to get going already, and leaving his 3mo old son and fiancee for so long. Anyway....just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi Carol, I just read your post on the Prayer wall. Now I have read all of your blogs to learn more about you and your family situation. You have certainly been through a LOT recently, how stressful!! I will be praying for you and the relationship with the daughter and inlaws to be. :) Congrats on new job, I hope and pray it allows you to set aside the funds you will need to be part of this big event in your precious son's life.

For what it's worth, I wrote two blogs recently that I think might help encourage you and give you perspective. The one entitled "Open Palm" is the one I especially thought of as I read your posts. While writing, I had the image of God cradling us in the Palm of His mighty, but open hand, letting us have free will though we often break his heart with it. He loves and pursues us, but leaves it to us to have a growing relationship with Him. Anyways, feel free to click on my icon pic and go read that and "Looking Back" if you feel so inclined, I hope they bless your loving mama's heart. =) Take Care.

Carol - just read your post on the Prayer wall group. Hang in there Mama. I have two boys and know that one day I will be in the same boat. It is VERY hard after being their #1 for most of their life up until now!! Take some time and figure out what kind of a MIL (mother-in-law) you would like to be. How you handle things now will effect your new relationship with your son and his bride in the future. I was absolutely blessed 29 yrs ago with my in-laws. They have always been supportive and have treated me like their own daughter since the first day I walked into their house. They never interferred, gave advice when asked and have been supportive throughout the years. I've always told my MIL that I have a very good teacher on how to be one someday. I will keep you in my prayers and I'm sure it will all work out for you. Put it in God's hands - you've taught him just about everything he knows and that says alot :)

I've been following your posts, since the girlfriend came to visit! And I just read your recent blog that he got engaged and then.....Whoa... back up! A tattoo?? My son got a tattoo this past weekend, too! First one, and I hope last. It's our last name down the side of his ribcage. He took a picture of it with his cell phone and sent me a message that said "you like?". How was I suppose to answer that?! Crazy kids. And your son... what did he get?
