Hi Carol, thanks so much for sending my cousin a card!!
Yep, I know Reagan Hawkins!!! He gave my Sailor a hard time in his class. Would not let him turn something in because Derek did not hear or understand instructions. Another story!!
I actually teach in Vidor. Reagan and I also worked together in Port Arthur.

Gosh-it's good to know already! JT just started SCC class. He still has another class after SCC before he actually starts GM school. So far he's in Great Lakes til Feb 2009. When do they submit choices for their orders? Good to hear from you Carol.

I did tell him I joined this website but his computer is broken and he can't use the Navy e-mail for personal web stuff, so we communicate by phone & letters. I don't think he has the real vision of this site.

San Diego was Dylan's 3rd choice for assignment but he sounded excited when he called. I was thankful because his first choice was forward deployed or embedded. Guess God is looking out for us all. I hope your husband is doing better.

Thank you for letting me know about your son getting his soft orders. It is a joy for them to hear where everyone is going. Was there any "exotic" places mentioned? My son was surprised to receive orders for a duty station 2 hours from home but now we are very happy to have him close by while my husband is having extreme medical issues. God is holding us firmly in His arms this summer. Has your son told his classmates about this site for their moms? It would be nice to get some more people into our Mass Communication Specialist Group. :)

Hi - I got back in town last night also. My house is fine. You are so right - the putting things back together is worse than the leaving. The power lines in front of my house are tied together with what looks like electical tape. Kinda scary looking!! Lots of leaves and limbs in my yard - but my home is ok. One sister is still waiting on electricity and the other lost her home and is headed to her daughters.
Thanks for asking!!

He does a lot of writing as well, but not sure about videography? I know he and another guy went up in a helicopter for a shoot. The other guy was suppose to shoot the video but got really airsick. I will have to ask him. He use to write and do a lot of photography for the Penny Press, now he says most of what he does I do not see. He plans to take leave on their return trip then he wants to fly back to the base to take photos of it's arrival to home port.

Hi Carol......sorry about such a delayed response. Got busy and not checking daily like I did before. You may not even remember that you asked why my son does not want to continue with a photography career after Navy? His first love is music, he has an incredible ear. MC is a great job in the Navy though and he does not discount it in any way. He had no background in photo or writing either, but he has done well.
