About me:

Hi! I am a married mother of 2 sons - Steven, our United States Navy Sailor and Travis, currently missing his big brother A LOT! My sons are my pride and joy. There are two subjects that will prompt a long conversation from me - my boys and my Mach 1. We live in the same house my husband grew up in. My husband and I were high school sweethearts and our boys are/will be third generation graduates from our high school. We have a lot of fun watching movies - mostly action and comedy. We also like to just "hang out" as a family doing whatever. What's else to tell - I work outside the home while my husband is the "at home" parent. Personally, I am a total bibliomaniac (book nut). I like history, biographies and mysteries. I enjoy N4M, eating out, shopping (which is not the same as spending) and life in general, God has blessed us greatly.

Inside a Girl

Trust Jesus

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES UPON HIM SHALL NOT PARISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. John 3:16

GOD LISTENS! KSBJ Radio - Listen on line at www.ksbj.org

My child's first name:
Steven
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
He scored big on the ASVAB test and was exempted from the Nuclear placement test. Also, when he received an invitation to the Presidential Inauguration. HE PASSED HIS PFA!! :)
I can see him reaping the fruits of his hard labor.

When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
Boot camp was the worst 2 months of my life. The hardest part was not being allowed to be part of his life. But, "it came to pass".

Let go - he's old enough to vote. He is a man now. He really can do it without you or the Navy will teach him how.

Get informed!! You don't feel so left out that way. Learn Navy lingo so you can understand terms like "port" and "starboard".
For Seaman to Admiral program go to www.sta-21.navy.mil
For Navy info go to www.navy.mil/navydata/navy_legacy_hr.asp?id=261

My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hey - I just realized - - was it your son Steven that wrote that poem after 9-11? Wow - great job for a 12 year old!!

Missed you at the get together - so sorry about the car trouble.

Did you get the link to the pictures of the get together? If not, PM me your email address and I can send them either through Walmart or Shutterfly!

Jesus is the only way in this world. Without him we would not be where we are today. He is helping me through the sad times I have mainly at night, waiting for her to come home from being with her friends and she not there to come home. I don't have much of a relationship with my mom. I had Amber when I was sixteen and my youngest when I was seventeen, so I was on my own from that time on. That is one reason why I wanted my girls to know that I would be there for them anytime and wanted a mother daughter relationship. We have had our ups and downs specially in her teen years when she knew it all, but I prayed for her and gave her over to God and by His grace she came back and our relationship grew. That is one reason that it is so hard for me sometimes. She left me a letter before she left for boot camp and she said that I get on her nerves but that I was her best friend and how we grew up together. She is so right and that is what I wanted for my girls and our relationship. Praise God. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. God Bless You.

This is my daughter. I don't take good pics and this way I can see her all the time. Ya I know they knock them down and build them back up. God does the same with us. That is what helps me through all of this is remembering this.

That is a awsome verse. I know that He is watching over our daughter. We pray for her everynight. She is in his hands just as we all are. With God who can come against us. God Bless You!

Cynthia, Looks like we've got a lot in common - Nuke mom, Texas mom (I live in Katy) and Emptynesters! My son leaves in mid-August. Glad to hear that yours is doing so well.

It's late. I just wanted to give a quick update. Steven is doing great in GC. Talked to him the other day - said he was doing his laundry which was always an issue when he was at home. I guess my little boy is really growing up. Hey, I'll catch up with y'all later.
Love, hugs & prayers,
Cindy
