Excellent!!! Glad things are moving along. My son likes Pensacola already...he's worried about the mighty storm Fey, but I told him Pensacola doesn't look like it's in her path but batten down the hatches for some rain. :) Looks like raincoat training in Great Lakes will come in handy :)

That is great! I wish him well. How are you doing? We are trying to plan another trip to visit Brandon in October.

Absolutely, aircrewmen have much more rigorous physical standards to uphold. I dated an aircrewman while I was stationed at VQ3 Barbers Point Hawaii.. he was what they call a Reel Operator. We flew C130 Hercules aircraft. Pretty fun tour of duty. I still have my flight boots and flight suit. Memories... :)
I'm sure things will be just fine with your sailor. Glad you have another means to stay in touch with him at least. :) I just got a call from my son while at work today...wanting to know when I sent off his stuff so he'd know when to look for it. Guess him and his 2 boot camp buds are getting all settled into the "routine" and have their room set up with a new sound system and CDs LOL. They split the cost of it. tooooooooo funny. He is standing Color guard right now, and had to get his uniform pressed. Color guard are the group that raises and lowers the american flag each day. Sounded good so I'm happy. Now if he'd only get rid of that terrible hacking cough, I'd not worry so much. Well have a wonderful week. TC/GB Donna

Hi there..well it is very odd that they would do this now...usually if there is something with medical they catch it early in boot camp. Hopefully it will resolve. My son is going to school in Great Lakes and moved to his dorm Wednesday. He has called me the last 2 nights. I mailed his cell phone to him. He seems to be doing well. I hope everything works out. Let me know.

I know that if there are any extenuating medical conditions, they will put everything else on hold until they are resolved. People get put in a med hold status. If he has a guarenteed A school, they will have to honor their contract, so when they resolve any medical issues, they will send him off to his A school. Will keep him in our prayers.

It was awesome! And you? We had a great time. My son was so excited to get the Honor Recruit award for his division. :) It did go by quickly however. We went to Navy Pier on Saturday which was pretty fun. All that worrying I did and he did just fine.
Did you enjoy your time with your son? I wish we could have met. They had us sitting in the VIP section instead of our division section and the t-shirts were sold out already. So I will order one online.
My son starts A school Wednesday. That puts him coming home on leave somewhere in November. At least we can communicate more with e-mail and cell phones now.
Let me know how your time went!
