Nice to meet you too. I am thankful I found this website. Its so nice to hear from other people. I am scared for my son to go to Bahrain for 2 years but pray every day that it will be ok for him. He is having a nice time in San Diego. I don't hear from him much but when i do he is on the beach enjoying his time now. I'm not sure if he is in Coronado Island but will also ask him if he knows Nathan. He doesn't call much or answer emails. Do you know if they will have internet access in Bahrain?

WOW two yrs...Bahrain ...what does Nathan think of his orders? I have not seen Douglas for going on 9 months now and I have never been away from him for more than two weeks when he went on a trip with boyscouts...It's killing me. He does call , so that helps. Douglas loves the Navy but right now he's out of his division doing Cranking....Something all E4 and below have to do at some point for 4 months...he's not enjoying that as much , but he's made new friends...He never seems to be upset when I talk to him...I think he's doing amazing. MA I know is Master at arms..but what is that?(gosh I hope that's right) Any how sorry for the delay in commenting back...Homecoming week. It's been non-stop all week. Ugh. Going to relax today. Enjoy your Sunday and hope all is well.

Hi Elaine,
My son went to Bahrain after A-school. He has been there 1 year now and rather than go someplace else he has opted to stay there until Nov '09. I can understand your concern, but George really likes it there. He turned 21 in Bahrain which I found difficult ;o) My son is also an MA, he was working in the armory on base, then in the harbor. It is very hot & sandy there. If you have any questions or concerns that I might be able to answer for you let me know.

Hi Elaine,
My son will be leaving for Bahrain on November 14. Are you scared? I am. I kind of expected that he would get sent out of the country but for 2 years...that's a long time.

Thanks for all the pictures! They were good. Only two more weeks until you get to see him (I'm jealous hehe) and I get to talk to him! I've been counting down since even before he left and when we started it was 60 days and tonight I get to change it to 13!! You HAVE to take lots of pictures. I need one where I can see how much weight he has lost because we both know he had a gut going on there for a while. :-)

Derek left for boot camp December 19, 2007. FOREVER ago!!! He did not do his "A" school in Texas - he was supposed to but it got changed at the last minute and we don't know why.
The MA "A" school is held at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. It is the same as the one in Virginia Beach
You are sooo lucky to have a mom like that - treasure her!!!

Hi Sweetie, little girl, my first born. To think our little boy is now growing up before our eyes is a scary but exciting thought. To see him become the man that we have always known he was from that little boy playing with dinosaurs, to my remembering his first leather bomber jacket I got for him at 6 months of age. Where does time go? Only time can tell us now. What a wonderful site for all of us to become friends and to stay strong together. Thank you for sending me the site to join honey. I hope it's full of other Grand parents to. Love you, Mother..........
