About me:
I have 2 Children and I am in the Banking field.
My oldest son just shipped off to boot camp this week. My husband also served in the Navy with 30 years under his belt and is now retired.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Sean
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
He told me he could do whatever the Navy had in store for him. And he was eagar to go
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was concerned or afraid
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
That I won't always be able to talk to him and I have to believe he will make good decisions regardless if i'm there to guide him.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer

Pearl,

We got a call at 4:30 this morning!! I was so excited to hear from him because we didn't get to see him Monday morning as planned. We had to go home not knowing why our visit was cut short.
Evidently, 5 boys came in late of Sunday so they lost Monday liberty. Back to the call this morning - The boys were at the airport awaiting for a flight to Pensacola.
Conrad said he would call with an address as soon as he could. Let me know if you hear anything.

Hey Chrissy, Graduation was awesome. So many people and all the kids looked great! We took lots of pictures and just waiting to get them back.
I am so proud of Sean as I know you are of Conrad. I had written Sean and told him we were talking to you guys and if he knew Conrad. He said
he jumped off his bunk and told Conrad, hey come here, my Mom and your Mom are talking on the Internet and he thought it was so cool! Sean
told me that Conrad was his "bud" and they hang out and talk all the time. What a small world! I am glad they are friends and they have each
other to hang out with. Sean told me that he would have liberty on Monday, Aug 4 but was not allowed to leave the base. I didn't get a call from
him so I'm sure they are keeping them busy with there new duties/schedule. He also told me that they were moving across the street to the other side. So not to write him since the address would be different. He told me he would write/call me this week so he could give me the new information. How nice they all looked in uniform. Sean is ready to go to Florida and is counting the days. He said it looks like they will leave Wednesday or Thursday of next week. So I will keep you upadated. Too bad we didn't get to meet. Between the 2 of us, surely we can keep track
of the boys./chat soon.

Pearl and Popeye,

Sorry we missed you folks at PIR. It was a great weekend and Conrad told me all about Sean...turns out that is his bunk mate!

I thought they would have on base liberty this Monday but we did not hear from Conrad and we had to get to the airport.

I enjoyed PIR and seeing my sailor and hope you folks had a good weekend too.

Hi-
Yeah! It's graduation week! We're busy packing and tying up loose ends. I got another letter from Matt ( for a grand total of TWO the whole time) thanks to someone here on the site named Mrs. Squires. She told her son to tell mine to write to his mom! Very cool. It was short but sweet. He assured me they were very busy and all was going fine. We'll see you in Great Lakes.

Pearl,

Sean cannot miss Conrad...look for the calmest, skinniest man in the division. Conrad is calm to the point of annoyance. We hope to see you and Popeye next Friday. We are stoked for the trip!

Pearl,

I saw your husband's question on Navy-Parents.com and made the connection. I don't know about you but this Navyformoms.com is a "busy" website. Sort of hard to move around in but it seems to have more activity than Navy-parents.com.

I think your son's name is Sean and our son's name is Conrad. Looking forward to seeing everyone at PIR and - since this site makes you move around so much - I will keep up with Popeye on Navy-parents.com.

That way we can respond in normal message forum topics and replies.

Hey Pearl-

Still nothing from my son. 1 letter and 1 call about 2 weeks ago. That's all we've had. Even his girlfriend hasn't heard from him. We just keep sending off letters of support and hoping that he's happy and strong.
