Profile Information

About me:
I'm 55 years old and married. I have two children, two step-children and 7 step-grandchildren. I am a secretary at a university and enjoy photography, listening to music and missing my son very much since he joined the Navy.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Timothy
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
he knew that going into the service was a way of broadening his future and getting much more education than he could as a civilian. He wanted to shape his future and make something of himself.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
my son is not a little boy anymore and that I have to let him grow up and become the man I know he is.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Tim called tonight and talked to us for about 40 minutes! It was SO wonderful to hear his voice and just talk about what he's done and about PIR next Friday. He'll be in the middle of the flag bearers just to the left of the guy in the middle (our right). I think he enjoyed learning how to do the flag. It will be really exciting to see him. He said he will be there till the end of June because he has some other training before he heads to San Diego. Time will go so slowly till next week, I just can't wait anymore!!

I hope to see you too Friday morning. I know it'll be a mad house and I'm bringing my camera and camcorder to hopefully record the PIR. I don't know if Tim did order pictures, video or the Keel, but I hope he did. He never mentioned it. Only one week less and counting!!
