- Hey - yep, still me - just took my last name off to protect the innocent (or to be truthful - I hate my last name - same as my ex's)!!
I am a divorced Mom with two boys. I have one still living at home, Cleve. He just recently graduated college and has a good job. He is saving for his own house. My younger son, Derek, graduated from boot camp on February 15. He is now a MA and stationed in Kuwait. I live in Southeast Texas. I am a high school algebra teacher.

- I was the proudest of my child when:
- When I see him accomplish something that he has dreamed of doing. When he steps out on his own and does what he thinks is best, not what everyone around him is doing.
- When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
- Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud
- As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
- Encourage other people to keep in contact with your child. My son appreciated letters from everyone - not just his friends and relatives.
- My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
- Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer

Cousin in Iraq - Scott's Birthday!!
Hey guys!! Today was my (distant) cousin's birthday who is in Iraq. I asked y'all to send him a card and got MANY responses!! I hope I got his address to everyone who asked. (Gustav and Ike did not help much). I did not tell his mom what kind of response I was getting on here - I wanted them to be surprised. I am slowly recovering but it seems to be taking it's time in leaving. I've been home sick for three day. Going in today. I am the only on in my family and at work who has been sick! Darn!!

I read your post on LynnDears page. 7 weeks till Thanksgiving. How many days off do you get? I just don't know what to do! I need counseling!! Does Derek know yet if he'll be in VA for Thanksgiving? There are to many variables (I had to say that to you). :)
My daughter is coming home for Christmas for a week so I've got that planned out.
Matt got to Norfolk on Monday. He's cleaning offices during the day. No word on how long till he flys out.
All of Joyce's tupperware is sitting on my table. I did wash it tho. We need to get together again. I MISS everyone!
Hey, there is a hurricane coming to Tucson! Norberto or something like that is heading for Gulf of California and is projected to come our way. I'm not holding my breath, but it's something to look forward to this weekend.

Joe sent me today that said "mom, have i ever told you your the best mom ever. if not, your the best mom ever" incorrect spelling and all. I will treasure that for the rest of my days because, no, he has never told me that before. So that is making me feel slightly better.
