Hi Helen, wow, Key West, what a nice place to be stationed. Glad Matthew is doing well. Labor Day will be here before you know it. I know you want it here quickly, I want it to come slowly because Labor Day for me means my sailor is gone and I'm back to work. I teach and start on Sept 2nd. Don't get me wrong, I love my job but I'd rather be home running around, going on trips, chatting on N4M's.

My son had PIR 6/27, he is in FL but has not started A school yet. He is on the USS Abraham Lincoln. I too am very proud of my son, these sailors are great!

My son is in Pensacola for ABE. Which barracks is Matt in? My son is in the Alpha Barracks. When did Matt have PIR? I live in the middle of Suffolk County.

Hi Helen, I've been reading NY Navy moms and see you are originally from LI. I live on LI. What part are you from? Where is your sailor now and what does he do?

Thanks Helen, you're right. What an awesome experience. I felt overwhelmed with pride watching them march into the ceremonial hall. I just hoped every parent was able to witness their children become men and women of our US NAVY. Our son looked lean and fit, we almost didn't recognize him because he looked much younger and grew about 2 inches. I guess standing at attention straigtened out his spine. His eyes wide opened to the world, his energy level high, and enthusiam to take on the challenges that lie before him. We cannot be any prouder. We wish all the members of the armed forces safety, health, and happiness in their commitment to the military.
Thanks for writing, Tracy
