Hey Kim,
Good to hear that Ben is plugging along. Lawrence is also. Definitely a switch from BUD/S!!!!!!! He misses BUD/s; not the craziness, but all of the physical activity. My heart and prayers are with our boys!!!!!!!

HI Joyce! Yes, Ben is going to try to be a Gunner's Mate. he got back to GL on July 12th and started ATT classes. They are electrical classes that he had to take before he started GM classes. He had a terrible time with them, thinking several times he was going to be dropped from failed test scores. He finally finished it this past Friday and starts actual GM school today. The ATT was all on a computer moniter with no instructor-basically self taught. Apparantlly that was not his best mode of learning, lol. He thinks he'll have an instructor now, so hopefully that will help. He's never been real classroom motivated, but I'm hoping he finds the motivation somewhere for this. If he gets dropped from it he'll be sent to the fleet as a non-rate: paint scraper and all around bottom of the food chain. He's really worried about that, but I guess we'll have to wait to see if he's worried enough to actually hit the books! How's Lawrence doing in Pensacola? Did their actual class time start yet?

A bit off this subject, but I would be interested in a PA moms get together. I am all the way in Pittsburgh, though.

I just saw the cooment above that you had left on somone's blog. I was thinking about the very same thing. Pat

Greetings, you find the PA group pm my page (left side) you might have to click on view all. You can also click on the groups tab on the top of the site. Sorry to hear your son was dropped from the Seals. What the heck is "Hell Week?" IT is not a bad rate....my daughter is one & loves it....definitely a marketable rate in the civilian world. Any questions please feel free to ask. IT was not Ashley's choice of rates but she really likes it.

I'm curious, what did your son do after he DOR'd? Did he pick a new rate, or wait for another Spec Op positon to come along?

Same as Kim's son Ben, then. There's at least 5 of us on NFM that are 272. Some days it's just hard to breathe, or is that just me?

And even MORE in common:)! What Class was your son in? Mine is currently at Coronado. Bruce is from (outside of)Masontown, outside Uniontown. We go back for his class reunion every 5 years and while there, I remember what 'green' looks like:)! It's beautiful here, just NOT green:)!
I love the 'if you want to live' comment, hee-hee:)!
Happy 4th to you as well:)!
