About me:: I am a 47 year-old single mom. I have two children, Joseph is getting on the plane to go to Great Lakes in about 30 minutes and a daughter Chelsea who is 15. We live about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta.

I was the proudest of my child when:: When he made the decision to join the Navy in order to take care of his wife and newborn son.

Have you heard from your son yet. If not I hope you plan to get on the plane tomorrow. They have to pass all test prior to going to battlestations. If he had not passed one of the test he would have been told to call and inform his parents that he might not PIR. So if you did not get a call like that before going to battlestations he will be fine.
In the Navy, No news is Good news.

Michael is the youngest of the three. His sister's are 23 and 26. His wife is staying with us until he completes boot camp. I enjoy having her stay with us; it makes me feel closer to my son. Michael and Heidi eloped in Vegas. I was both surprised and disappointed cause we didn't know. They are going to make it up by having a big wedding in Sept. This way everyone will be able to attend.

I just found out yesterday that Michael is in Div 13 Ship 9. My son also has a new wife. He was married in Jan (3 days before his 22nd birthday). I think that joining the navy was a right decision for him. He does very well in a structured environment. I mailed him his 1st letter today! I would have mailed it sooner, but I didn't have an address until yesterday. Please write back-I'd enjoy hearing from you even if the boys aren't in the same group.
