Profile Information

About me:
I live in Louisiana, my son Ernesto (Ernie) graduated from boot camp on 7/3/08. His brother was in the Navy as a Damage Controlman and his grandfather was in the Navy during WWII as a Radio Operator. Ernie is currently in "A" school in Great Lakes in OS.
My child's FIRST name only (No Last Names Please!):
Ernesto
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
he made the decision to join the Navy!
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Was proud
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
That the US Navy reinforced the values that I have always taught my sons.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

Thanks for the invite. My son graduated from boot camp Feb 2004 as a PR. Went to A school in Florida and then spent about 3 yrs in Japan. He is just back from Iraq this month. He is now stationed in Hawaii. My dad was also in the Navy.
Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Nancy :)

Hi Celeste,
My son has been on the USS Truman for tha past five years. He lives in Norfork and goes to the ship each day. He has been deployed two times and just returned from his second deployment this past June.
I am glad to have you as a friend.

Hey Celeste, I'm glad to hear from you. Yes, I agree the system is difficult , the past 6 months have taught us alot and taken a toll. He has a lot of respect for the military and come from a huge military back ground. If it were up to me, it would be for him to stay and finish school and make sure he is completely well. I support him in whatever he does and we do have the conversation about different doors being open and things happening for a reason. I do understand about unexpected promises and changes being made once they cross the line into the military and recruiters not being on the up and up. The Arizona Gathering in Sept. was awesome, and you would have met moms who would agree with your comment "being nice".
I am so sorry you have been busy, I can understand that. I am a Nurse Case Manager and we normally get the winter visitors in late November but they are here now, I think the hurricanes have a big part in that also.
Congratulations on his finishing A-School, that is wonderful. I hope Ernie is doing okay and you too. Please stay in touch.
