About me:: Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm originally from Iowa. My husband , Dave, and I recently moved to Wisconsin--due to my job. I love being so close to 2 large cities---Chicago and Milwaukee--we are situated between the 2! We have 2, adult children. Derek, who is our "Navy" man and Beth. Beth continues to live in and work in Iowa and we miss her!!!
Derek should be on his way to the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln at this time. Derek is an Aviation Technician--his squadron is VFA-2 (Bounty Hunters). I am proud to have my son in the Navy!!!! Derek has always been a patriotic person ( we raised him well)! My father, Derek's grandfather was in the Navy during WW2. Derek's paternal grandfather served in the Marines. So, Derek had some good role-models. Thanks to all of our service men and women---where would we be without such great people?

I was the proudest of my child when:: I saw Derek in his uniform at his graduation from boot camp. The entire experience was awe inspiring.

As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:: Expect the unexpected!

My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:: This was a maturing experience

Derek emailed and is close to Hawaii---poor guy, he won't get to see Hawaii, they are doing an air show but then go on to Singapore. After that, he'll be in the Persian Gulf.
