Tracy is just looked at your video of Shane's PIR made me cry, I miss my son so bad, Its Mother's Day so that makes it worse, his PIR is June 20th. I hope to get losts of picture's I loved the ones with the rain, what we go through as mothers, rain or shine, what ever it takes to get to spend that time with them, I know it is going to be very short. Hi everyone! I haven't been online much, sorry all. I started back to classes after we got back from PIR so with that and work it keeps me pretty busy. My son left for Pensacola the Wednesday after PIR and now we hear from him almost daily. That is spoiling me worse now; because on the day he doesn't call ... I am like... where is my phone call? I just sent him his cell phone yesterday so he can't wait to get it in the mail. He still is in a holding unit going through "Core" for a while; it may be as much as a month before he starts. But he says, Mom I don't mind- I am in Florida. The weather there reminds him of Arkansa so much he loves it.
I am about to start sending packages and I know I could probably send him food and stuff; but does anyone have an special suggestions on the best things to send him. THe things he might want the most; run out of the most; or just can't get there. Well, he will probably be able to go off base in a few weeks or months so that won't be a problem... but any suggestions would be welcome.
I have enjoyed reading some of the posts since I have been away so much. I will have to catch up this weekend on everything. Everyone is in my prayers; especially a few that I head read about that have been hurt or sick; I pray for a fast recovery.
Tracy, I just looked at your pictures from PIR. Shane looks so grown up in his sailor dress blues. Congratulations! The one in the parking lot with you hugging him made me cry...were you saying goodbye to him?...because if you were, I'm going to cry more! So how is Shane now? Is he still in GL? Did you have fun in Chicago?
We are leaving tomorrow for GL to see Shane at PIR on April 11th. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Worrying about just getting there. I can't wait to see him. He called Friday night and just talked non-stop about his experiences at bootcamp like he was proud of what he was doing and learning. I can't wait to post some pics when we get back. Anyone else attending the 11th, please have a safe trip.
Hi Tracy
I hope to get to meet some of the families as well. We will be coming from St. Louis, we are leaving early Thursday morning. Have a safe and wonderful reunion.

Hi Tracy
wow you don't have long until graduation, I got a letter today.
I was so happy but it was hard to hear how lonely he was. Let me know all about your trip. hugs~Brenda
Marie...I know Shane hated his name as well when he was younger...everyone always called him Sean instead of Shane...I'm not sure why as to me it's pretty obvious...but what can you do...his middle name is Patrick and he didn't care too much for that one either until he got older...now he likes the Irish ring to it...Shane Patrick...I don't know...I'm doing fine...can't wait to hear from him...I'm hoping by this Thursday from all I have read from different moms...this may be the week for it...until then will keep sending out the cards and letters and pics...(I think I've gotten more use out of my camara since he left then I have since he bought it for me 2 Christmas's ago)...~laugh
