My child's first name:
John
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
I have always been proud of my son.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
Patience. Waiting for letters, phone calls, information is hard when I have always known what was going on in his life.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer

Hi Carol, just wanted to see how John is doing in school. How much longer will he be in GL? Nick hasn't even started "A" school yet! Well, he's been in classes since PIR but there are alot of prep classes leading to the actual A school, I think he will finish mid Nov. When does John wrap it up? Are you being impacted by the weather?

I grad.St. Charles High 1981 and my husband grad. frrom Duchesne, 1980. Our paths have probably crossed many times. Jacob leaves Sept.2. I am freaking out about how much I am going to miss him. I don't think he really gets it just yet.

Hello! Jacob went to Duchesne. He just graduated. He "thinks" that he wants to be an Aviation Mechanic. I say that lightly as he is only 17. Won't be 18 until August. Is your son already through bootcamp? We grew up in St. Charles but moved to St. Peters when we got married.

Hello! Yes, i did attend my husband, Sterlings PIR!! It was great! He is currently still waiting to start his A school on June 30! So not much longer. He will graduate that on July 21! Then we are being stationed In Bremerton Washington!! = ] Pretty eexcited about that. But it is going to be a huge change!! and im sure it will take some time to get use to! Pretty upset though. Because there is a group on here for sterlings ship he is going to be stationed on in washington, and they are currently out at sea, and return july 31! and leave again in Jan for 8 months! = [ so i guess my first deployment is coming quicker than i thought! We also have a 10 wk old son, Hunter! He is the best!! He has majorly helped keep me busy and occupied and made time go by so fast while sterling has been gone!!
I am also looking forward to going back to GL. I am going up there July 4-13!! So that will be fun, and am looking forward to spend time with my husband! I didnt take our son with me when i went down for graduation, because i had a nonreliable car at the time and everything and he was sick. So sterling has not seen him since he was 6 days old!! So he is going to be shocked on the 4th of July when we arrive!! = ]
Anyways how have you been? you say you live in O'fallon? Yeah, i live in Wentzville!! How old is your son? What highschool did he attend? Maybe i know him!! lol. well keep in touch!

I'm actually going to see Kev this weekend. He is homesick too. Its my understanding that they don't like to approval leave for them during A-school and that they can't travel more than 250 miles without approved leave. What ship is your son on and what school is he in?

Hello. Where do you guys live? My son is in A School in GL and I think he is close to phase 3. We live in Independence (KC).

We're saving up our frequent flier miles and hope to go visit in the fall! Life is very interesting as the mom of a corpsman in the special forces. Do you have a myspace account? I'd really suggest getting one-that's one way I keep up with my son because it shows the date everytime he checks it, so I know he's ok as of that date. A lot of the Marine moms do the same thing. After he gets assigned, I'd also suggest joining MarineParents.com. It's a great way to connect with other families whose sons are in the Marines and are at the same location as your son. Get in a support online group with them- you'll be surprized at how much support and info you can get there! Be sure to go and visit him after he's been there a few months and has established himself and meet everyone you can! Get addresses and phone numbers of all that you can as well. Those contacts can prove to be invaluable if you need to get in touch with your son but its not an emergency situation. Where is John wanting to be stationed? Keep in touch
