Dear Denise,
Congratulations on your husband's promotion. That's a pain though, the constant move. I would hate that !!! Granted we should have moved out of my house years ago, and we're still here 22 years later. We out grew the house. I raised two girls and one boy in one tiny bedroom. Now the two younger ones are gone, I still have the oldest one home. I joke with her, I thought she being the oldest would be the first to go...HA HA! The nest is almost empty. I enjoy the time alone with my husband, I still like him !!! HA HA!!!! How much water is under that bridge !!! Last week was our 27 anniversary, where did that time go !
Next year, will be 30 years that we're together, I told him I want to go away for a long weekend to celebrate, where else, up in Massachuttes !!
We spoke to Kim last Sunday, she still has to give me her new address. Poor thing is going to go nuts this summer, with out swimming. It's ashame she not going to Virginia as planned, I heard their swimming there. My kids swim everyday in the summer, the beach is two blocks away. My kids hate pools.
. When are you moving ? I sure don't envy you. You don't realize how much you have until you pack !!!
You take care, keep in touch.

Hi Denise,

I speak to Ashley a few times a week now. This is much better than waiting for letters. She is really enjoying Virginia, She didn't actually class-up until Monday the 23rd. She was made class leader (everyone in her class has to report to her) and she has a Petty Officer (E-4) that has to report to her (E-3). I hope we don't have a repeat of the "worst section leader in the history of the Navy" lol. She hasn't said anything about the PTs but today they started learning fighting (takedowns, kicks, punches and pressure points). I think next week is guns. She really is excited now that BC is over.

I hope Tish, gets the right shoes, that will make all the difference in the world in the way she performs and feels after PTs. Doesn't the Navy provide the right shoes?

The doctors can't find any reason for Tony's seizures so they will probably call it epilesy (generic term). I still believe he is allergic to the military, I think getting drafted during Vietnam must have left a lasting impression. Say hi to your family for me.

He is going to talk to the instructor of the group that Michael is in and that instructor is supposed to talk to the entire group about "horse play", and harrassment. Michael called briefly yesterday afternoon and said that he made a 97 on a tough test, and that seemed to lift his spirits some. I think he will be fine. I will be driving to Mississippi either this weekend or next to give him a break. Talk to you soon. Becky

Thanks Denise for the message. I called the Chaplain of the base today and talked to him. He didn't ask for my son's name, but said he was going to talk to the instructor in charge of that group. He told me to call back in a couple of days and see if anything has changed. I think this might work. If it doesn't, I'm going to ask Michael to talk to his Chief. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all of your advice and thoughts. I'll talk to you soon. Becky

Hi Denise. I am writing you to ask your opinion about something. My son is in Meridian, Mississippi as you know. He is not happy there. He has some very rude and immature roommates. There are 4 all together in the room and 12 in the pod. Michael is a quiet kind of guy, and likes to stay to himself. The other guys are making life for Michael hell right now. They pick on him and call him names. This isn't helping with all that Michael has to concentrate on for studying. I know Michael also has to grow some thicker skin, but I also thought these guys were to treat each other with respect. Do you know if there is anything Michael can do? Michael has called me several times this week with the same news as to these guys being so immature...ect. I hate to hear him so upset like this. Any ideas will be welcomed. Also, did you get my e-mail about you and your family moving so close to us? We live very close to Satellite Beach. You'll love it there, it's beautiful. I'll talk to you soon. Becky

Hi Denise,
Ryan called earlier and said they had to march in a parade tonight in their pt outfits. He wasn't too happy because the shorts are to short for him. I looked it up on the internet and it the fiesta parade for the anniversary of the founding of pensacola. It is like a Mardi Gras parade, should be fun. Have you heard from Tish again? It was great meeting you as well.

By the way Ryan said he and Tish talked more the way to Pensacola.

Thank you! I really didn't meet many people that night. We were in and out pretty quickly. We were so tired.

John stays in GL til late Aug or early Sept. Then to Coronado, Cali.
