About me:
I'm a wife to Don and a mom to Patrick and Claire. I am so proud of all of them! Patrick, a Navy corpsman, has completed his second tour of duty in Iraq at Rawah, Iraq. He is now stationed at Rota, Spain for the next two years serving as a corpsman to the Marine Security Force there in the FAST Co.(Fleet AntiTerrorism Support Team) and travels all over the world. Claire earned her Associate's Degree from Trinity Valley Community College and is following in the footsteps of her brother, father, and grandfather by joining the Navy. Needless to say, we are so very proud of her and can't wait to see where life will take her! She graduated from Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois in mid-May. She's going to be a ET, working on computers. Claire has finished her SCC and ATT schools and is currently doing her A School, with a scheduled completion date in December. After her A school, who knows??? Patrick's best friend and our "adopted" son, Octavio Estrada, is in the Marine Reserves and drove a wrecker truck in Iraq. He just returned home to the states in mid-September....Whoo Hoo! We have 2 dogs- sister Lhaso Apsos- who are hilarious and so endearing...love them dearly! I am technologically challenged, but am steadily learning how to be more techno-hip...I'm an educational diagnostician for special education working at Palestine High School and I love my job! High school kids are so fantastic!!! I love Jeeps-we're a 4 Jeep family! I have a Grand Cherokee, Claire has an 01 Cherokee, and Patrick has 2 Jeeps- a 98 Cherokee and an 07 Wrangler Rubicon. Wish I had a Wrangler for a grown-up toy!!
My child's first name:
HM3 (FMF) Patrick and SN Claire
My son/daughter is:
Enlisted
I was the proudest of my child when:
My children all make me proud because of the kind and caring people they are. They love each other dearly and genuinely care for each other, as well as others.
When my son/daughter first spoke about joining the service I:
Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
As a new Navy mom, the most important thing I learned was:
to be patient and trust in the abilities of my children. Turning things over to God has been the answer to many prayers.
My son/daughter is currently in the service or retired, and now I believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

He was in San Diego...POOR BABY, 21 years old and in San Diego for the summer! He had the late class schedule, 1530-2200 or something similar. By the way he LOVES his job and LOVES the Navy. The younger one that just graduated BC is also going for ET.

It is a small world Millye! We were their in the late 80s after returning from Japan. Steve was an instructor at the C school for...FCs! We loved the area but it was SO expensive, taxes, housing, traffic, etc. so when we got to pick where we wanted to live...we went to Atlanta and love it here too - but miss those wineries!

I see where Claire said they got 7 inches of rain. I didn't know. Havn't had TV for a little bit. Patrick told me and his daddy to call him and let him know we were OK afterwards. I was so touched and asked him, "who are you, and what have you done with my son?"

Well hello, How's everything going. I'm doing pretty good. My son Sam should be finished with A school by Friday Lords will. And then I can start looking for him to come home. And I'm really excited about that. It's been so long seems like a life time. But God is good and has brought us this far I'm waiting to go the rest of the way. God Bless You And Your Family
