Yea Paty!!! So glad to hear you're both together!
Navy 08: just me and my spouse today too, we're enjoying the quiet day. His 3 daughters with families will be here for Christmas, my 2 sons will not. We're kind of a backwards Brady Bunch, probably a little dysfunctional too!!

Paty, so glad you finally have that sailor home with you.
Hope all my NM's have a very Happy Thanksgiving today, with or without our sailors.

Paty I'm so happy your guy is home and your sharing Thanksgiving with him. My son is in the Middle East and my daughter teaches in Montana so just me and my spouse today. It's hard not having them here but I'm so thankful we will all be together for Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving Navy Family!

Hey ladies! so he is finally here!!!! I am so excited and the house WAS clean! After 4 bags and a 50 lb sea bag in the middle of the living room and him digging for civilian clothes it was soon messy. We will be headed out of town tomorrow morning to see his grandparents I have yet to meet. I got my military ID now so I am able to get on base and SHOP at the Nex!! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and to those whose sailors aren't here I send thanks to you for your sacrifice.

HI everyone. I have not been on for a while so wanted to say Hi to everyone. I aqlso wanted to post this email so that everyone can vote
Hi, as you are aware our cause "Thank A Soldier" is in the top five in the Open web awards presented by Mashable & Motorla.

The first few days we were doing amazing in the votes but in the last two days we are getting out voted atleast by a four to one margin. There are no prizes in this awards just a chance to get our causes name out there and how important it is to show our men and women the gratitude they deserve.

It takes 10 seconds of your day to vote each day and I don't think that is much to ask when you consider what our men and women go through daily.

We are the only military related group in the top five and this is our big chance to help our group grow even more.

If You have a blog or website you can click on the PROMOTE option, then pick the category "Best Non Profit use of social media" and then select "Thank A Soldier" on the right side. You will be given HTML code to paste on your blog or website and it will take people automatically to the vote page.

There are TWO ways to vote :

Step 1: Go here
http://mashable.com/owa/votes?v=21&c=5
Log in with facebook or twitter and click submit & post

How to vote the long way :

Step 1 :
Go to the mashable website
http://mashable.com/owa/

Step 2:
Log in with Facebook Or Twitter by clicking the logo

Step 3:
In the Category drop down select Best Non Profit Use of Social Media

Step 4:
in the "I VOTE FOR" select "Thank A Soldier" in the drop down

Step 5:
Click Submit and post/tweet

Step 6:
Copy and paste the Mashable link in your facebook status with these steps and it will be posted on your wall for your friends to see.

I'm sorry for sending out the multiple messages but we have 3,070,000 members there is a good chance we can win this IF we all come together for a common goal.

Prayers going out to Seth and his family. Must be hard when they are so far away from home. Hope the Navy takes care of him.
Lynn, glad your sailor will be so close to home for a while. I don't know what the rules are there, Jenn did her A school in JAX, Pensacola was closed when she went through A school, but it isn't that far for a visit, I loved it when she was close, and then she stayed in JAX till 08, so I had her here for a long time.

My deployed son emailed me this morning asking for prayers for a fellow sailor in his shop. He found out today his grandfather has passed away. Please lift up Seth and his familiy in prayer. Thanks!

Lynn, at least he gets winter in FL instead of summer and he got out of GL just in time before the cold really sets in. I've been an AE mom for over 6 years and I have no advice at all!! :) They are good people, good ones are very well respected. Tell him to work his butt off so he can first pick at orders!
Lynn (Damien's mom) Comment by Lynn (Damien's mom) on November 22, 2009 at 5:40pm
Hi all.....Damien finally made it to P'cola on Friday (he is an AE). He did his ATT training in GL, now he is waiting to class up. I am hoping that he can have visitors on base during phase 1 since I am only in Tampa and being a teacher, I have a whole week off. He said he probably will not class up until after the holidays, which makes sense. I am assuming he will have INDOC this week....any advice for a new AE mom??? He was so glad to get out of GL, but he said that 5 minutes after being in P'cola, he remembered why he was glad to leave Florida....LOL!!!
