Carole, I too was wondering about the blue candle, and I saw your answer to that one... now I'm just curious about the service flag (is that just an American Flag or is it a USN Flag?)

Stephen is 23 -- and tomorrow/Tuesday is his big day. I've only had one meltdown -- and it has lasted two days! LOL

I have to take Gabe to the recruiters office tomorrow at 1630. I am already dreading it. We went to Mass this morning and our priest said a special prayer for him, after getting on to me for not saying anything before Mass. The prayer was very sweet and then he blessed Gabe. From Mass we went on to see the "New Moon" movie and then to lunch at CiCi's. Then we went our separate ways for a little while and met back up here at the indoor sportsplex where I work, so he could play soccer with his daddy. I had to arrange it with security since Gabe doesn't have proper credentials... I suppose that was a perk of me being the facilities manager. Gabe and his dad just left to head home, and I needed to decompress, so I'm hiding in my office for a little while. My younest son Michael is taking everything really hard and has cried most of the day. I've tried to console him and be strong for him, even though inside it was really tearing me up that he was so tore up. I just told him that I know he loves his Gabe and Gabe knows it and loves him too, and no amount of physical distance is ever going to change that.

lr- they are essentially the same. you'll want to check in your state to see what is required..... Carole- Hunter is 18.... For all of you who have children leaving tomorrow, hang in there!

P.S. someone asked me where I got my blue candle from? I ordered it online several months age, but you should be able to find them easy now with Christmas here. It's just one of those window candles with a blue light bulb in it. When Ross leaves Wednesday, I will plug it in and leave it to burn all the time! In honor of him and all Sailors everywhere.

Pam, I would definitely do a Durable Power of Attorney. We just put a call into our lawyer and he had it done in a matter of hours. It cost us about $50.

Well, got the tree up and all the trimmins' down to go on the tree. We are going to do a trim the tree party with Katt on Tuesday. I'm making her favorite...chicken and dumplings. Poor thing, I have been "starving her" so I told her if she behaves with her diet I would make this for her.
Went shopping today and bought her a little back pack...feels kinda of wierd putting your kid on a plane with nothing but underwear and bras in her back pack. I would love to be a fly on the wall when security checks that! LOL!!!
Katt is in real good spirits....so the rest of us put on our "poker face" with her and stay happy right along with her.
Ladies...I'm thinking of you right now and will say a prayer for your kids who leave Monday.

Should I have a power of attorney done with my son before he leaves for boot camp??? And how do I go about it. Thanks
