Happy Thanksgiving! This will be our first without our Sailor, but we did get to talk to him last night, and he is spending it with a bunch of the guys at Corpsman school, he sounded fabulous, and is loving life. Hope that you all are getting to spend the Holidays with family and friends, we have so much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Ours will be quiet but I am thankful for the day off from work and time to just relax. My sailor is with friends and is fine. :-) I plan to bake him cookies this weekend.

Barbara J~ Enjoy every crazy moment with your Sailor!!! You deserve it!!!!! Sooooo Glad he's coming home!!!! Kyle has duty Thanksgiving Day but is coming home for Christmas!! Yeah...He is actually coming into Atlanta and we are going there too for the Christmas Holiday! That's where all the extended family lives. So you are right...we moms will go to extreme lengths to get our family together. But it's totally worth it, isn't it???? :o)

Alli ~ Congrats on your new Sailor! Glad you were able to attend PIR. Best wishes to your daughter too as she joins the USN!

Diane R ~ Have a great time at NAS Whidbey Island!!! I'd tell you to look up our son,Mike, but he'll be flying out of Seattle on Monday morning heading to Georgia for Thanksgiving!

I was supposed to keep it a secret from the rest of the family, but I finally let the cat out of the bag cause it was just getting too difficult to try to invite/coordinate travel plans for various family members - some of whom had not planned to rondevouz at our house for this holiday. But, after a lot of effort, the plans are finally falling into place! I just wish he was flying into Savannah, since that's only an hr from our house. Instead he flies into Atlanta, which means a very long trip up there an back for me ~ but hey I won't complain since he is at least getting to come home this time. It has been three very long years since his last trip to GA. Please pray for one of his sisters who lives in Raleigh NC ~ as we're trying to work around a problem in getting her and her family here for a brief visit on Mon-Tues. They are missionaries in Raleigh and have ministry work to do on Wed and Thurs next week...so cannot be here for Thanksgiving. Right now my "backup plan" is to drive to Raleigh (hopefully not) on Sunday roundtrip is (12 hrs) and pick up her and their two toddlers.....Amazing what efforts Moms will go to in order to get our families together.....or to spend even a little bit of time with our Sailors. Since Mike as last "home in GA" in Aug 2003, he's had another niece and nephew born, and lost both of his grandfathers earlier this year. It will be a whirlwind week, but worth all the effort on everyone's part to be with our Sailor.

Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Navy Families and other military families!
